Job summary

Azim Premji Foundation in Ranchi is seeking a senior Nursing Administrator to lead department setup, staffing, and patient care programs. The role focuses on implementing NABH and JCI nursing standards, driving quality improvement, and ensuring safety and documentation across clinical teams.

The candidate should have extensive nursing leadership experience in teaching or government hospitals, with strong credentials in infection control, credentialing, SOPs, and care pathways.

Qualifications

  • Registered and eligible nurse with Jharkhand Nurses Council.
  • BSc Nursing (4-year) or MSc Nursing from a recognized university.
  • MSc Nursing or PG Diploma in Nursing Administration/Management.
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification; infection control certification an advantage.
  • Minimum 20 years in clinical nursing and nursing administration.
  • Minimum 10 years in nursing administration roles (Matron, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years as a nursing team leader in a teaching hospital.
  • Experience in charitable/public-spirited or government teaching hospitals preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of infection control, wound care, vaccination protocols, medication management, and critical care nursing.
  • Familiarity with NABH and JCI nursing standards and quality frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Nursing KPIs: staffing ratios, bed-to-nurse ratio, etc.
  • Expertise in Credentialing & Privileging, and scope-of-practice management.
  • Hands-on experience in creating nursing SOPs, clinical care pathways, nursing protocols, and standard formats.

Requirements

  • Valid and active nurse registration with Jharkhand Nurses Council and Valid BLS and ACLS certification (mandatory); Infection Control certification is an advantage
  • Minimum 20 years in clinical nursing and nursing administration.
  • Minimum 10 years in nursing administration roles (e.g., Matron, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, Nursing Superintendent)
  • Minimum 5 years as a nursing team leader in a recognized teaching hospital
  • Experience from charitable, public-spirited, mission-driven, or government teaching hospitals will be given preference
  • In-depth nursing knowledge of infection control, wound care, vaccination protocols, medication management, and critical care nursing.
  • Thorough familiarity with NABH and JCI nursing standards, nursing-specific accreditation requirements, and quality frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Nursing KPIs Structural Indicators (staffing ratios, bed-to-nurse ratio), Process Indicators (compliance rates, care bundle adherence), and Outcome Indicators (fall rates, infection rates, patient satisfaction scores).
  • Expertise in Credentialing & Privileging of nursing staff, nursing competency frameworks, and scope-of-practice management.
  • Hands-on experience in creating and implementing nursing SOPs, clinical care pathways, nursing protocols, and standard formats.
