The role partners with the President - India Sub-Continent and regional offices to provide financial insight, drive disciplined performance, and lead budgeting, tax reporting, and statutory filings across multiple countries.

Qualifications

About the role:

The Vice President Finance & Accounts India Sub-Continent leads the finance function across multiple countries in the district, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, effective controls, and full compliance with local and corporate requirements. The role acts as a key business partner to the President - India Sub-Continent, regional office, and country agencies, providing financial insight, operational support, and leadership to drive disciplined financial performance across the region.

Role & responsibilities

• 1. Oversee invoicing, collections, customer disputes, accurate vendor payments, and timely remittances to the Principal.
• 2. Review and assess customer credit requests in line with company policies and risk considerations.
• 3. Coordinate effectively between Finance and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
• 4. Ensure accounting records comply with local regulations, internal controls, ISOX requirements, process excellence standards, and best practices.
• 5. Manage recovery of non-manifested expenses and monitor related controls. Support the Regional Office with accurate and timely system updates as required.
• 6. Ensure timely completion, reporting, and submission of financial statements and tax reports.
• 7. Ensure timely preparation and submission of required reports to government authorities, including secretarial reports.
• 8. Manage F2BC, debtor control, demurrage collection control and analysis, and agency budget performance.
• 9. Prepare and present the annual budget to senior management at regional and head office level.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Extensive experience in Shipping/Freight Forwarding industry. Proven experience in strategic financial planning and analysis. Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards. Excellent leadership and team management skills. CPA certification is a big advantage. Excellent communication skills in English and local languages. Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, regional offices, internal teams, customers, vendors, and government authorities.
