Qualifications

• 15–18 years in software engineering or technology delivery with senior leadership experience.
• Mandatory: General Insurance domain experience.
• Experience leading cross‑functional engineering and delivery organizations of 100+ employees.
• Strong depth in distributed systems, microservices, APIs and integrations, databases, AWS/Azure, DevOps and performance engineering.
• Expertise in Agile delivery, portfolio and release governance, risk management and vendor governance.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence and people leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering and application delivery—from architecture and design through build, release and production—for strategic business programs.
• Set architecture direction for high-volume, scalable, resilient systems; review designs and resolve critical production, performance and scalability issues.
• Build configuration-driven, reusable platforms that accelerate launches for products, partners and regulatory changes.
• Drive predictable delivery through portfolio planning, milestone tracking, risk management, escalation and senior stakeholder communication.
• Embed engineering excellence through CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, observability, SRE and measurable DORA outcomes.
• Coordinate dependencies across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security and Business; ensure frequent, stable releases.
• Ensure compliance with data security, IRDAI norms and internal controls.
• Build and mentor high‑performing engineering, delivery and program teams with clear accountability, lean structures and cost discipline.

Role Overview

Lead engineering and application delivery across Digit’s General Insurance technology portfolio, translating business priorities into scalable, resilient and high-quality solutions. This hands‑on leadership role owns architecture, engineering standards, program execution, release governance and delivery excellence, while partnering with Product, Business, Infrastructure, Security and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering and application delivery—from architecture and design through build, release and production—for strategic business programs.

• Experience leading cross‑functional engineering and delivery organizations of 100+ employees.
• Strong depth in distributed systems, microservices, APIs and integrations, databases, AWS/Azure, DevOps and performance engineering.
• Expertise in Agile delivery, portfolio and release governance, risk management and vendor governance.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence and people leadership, with a focus on ownership and outcomes. Preferred Exposure InsurTech, fintech or another regulated environment.
• AI, machine learning or automation solutions such as document processing or fraud detection.
• Core insurance platforms, including Guidewire, large vendor‑led programs and multi‑location delivery teams.
