Job summary

Hotelecia in Mumbai seeks a senior engineering leader to establish a high-performing in-house engineering organization and a Digital Center of Excellence. You will set enterprise standards, architecture patterns, and platform frameworks across application and platform engineering, quality, DevSecOps, and SRE.

You will own the technical roadmap, drive cloud-native scalability, and lead AI/ML workflows, including MLOps, with strong emphasis on automation, security, and measurable delivery.

Qualifications

• Related certification in programming or development.
• Certification in Agile scrum master is preferable.
• Core programming: Java/J2EE, Python, SQL, XML, YAML, JSON.
• Cloud Platforms: strong Azure experience preferred.
• AI: GenAI, AI Agents for insurance, RPA.
• DevOps/CI/CD: knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, IaC, security automation.
• Observability: Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk.
• UI/UX: React/Angular, PWAs, Headless CMS.
• REST APIs knowledge and web services experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead a high performing in house engineering organization and Digital Center of Excellence, covering application engineering, platform engineering, quality engineering, DevSecOps and site reliability practices.
• Define enterprise-wide engineering standards, coding practices, architecture patterns, quality frameworks and reusable platforms.
• Institutionalize robust code review practices using GitHub / Azure Repos pull request workflows.
• Design and implement enterprise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins (where applicable), leading to faster secure, zero-touch/defect and faster release cycles.
• Own the technical roadmap and platform architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of cloud-native systems.
• Drive the adoption of Generative AI powered solutions across underwriting, customer support, and claims processing to improve efficiency and personalization.
• Implement AI/ML workflows, including model training, validation, and production deployment (MLOps)
• Spearhead the implementation of robust CI/CD automation pipelines, preferably within the Azure DevOps ecosystem (Azure Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts).
• To own and drive end-to-end digitalization enhancements and align technology related research with the organization’s overall vision, strategies and objectives.
• To collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain digitalization roadmap thus support in the identification and prioritization of required technology initiatives for PMLI.
• To be responsible for technology capability assessment, establishment of new technology services thus fostering innovative and promoting process excellence.
• To develop requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedulers for digitalization projects.
• To make recommendations for digitalization plans and policies by assessing the results of the organization, finding gaps/issues, determining requirements, and evaluating the feasibility of current industry trends.
• To co-ordinate for periodic review of software documentation to ensure they are up to date, accurate and sufficiently descriptive.
• Identify organizational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the function.
• Drive and direct a team of highly technical resources, including all aspects of resources, financial, and people management

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Skills:

• A related certification in the field of programming or development
• Certification in Agile scrum master is preferable.
• Core Programming & Scripting: Java/J2EE, Python, SQL, XML, YAML, JSON
• Cloud Platforms: Strong understanding of modern cloud and application architectures with preference for experience on Microsoft Azure.
• AI: GenAI (LLMs, AutoGen), AI Agents for insurance, RPA
• DevOps & CI/CD: Strong understanding of DevSecOps toolchains and practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing and security automation. Tools like - GitHub Copilot, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Observability & Performance Monitoring: Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk
• UI/UX & Front-End Technologies: React, Angular, Progressive Web Apps, Headless CMSA solid understanding of the web’s three main principles: HTTP, URI and HTML5/CSS3
• Good knowledge of REST APIs
• Practical experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot and enterprise-grade source control and collaboration platforms.
• Experience with web application frameworks, MVC and web services
