The brief
You will own how Damco sounds and how Damcos content actually gets made.
Five teams, Branding, Category Marketing, Inbound, Outbound, and Sales, will come to you with briefs for blogs, white papers, case studies, ads, decks, scripts, landing pages, emails, and everything in between.
Your team turns those briefs into work the company is proud to put its name on.
This is a craft role with operating responsibility. We give you complete autonomy; you bring the taste, expertise and judgment.
If it sounds like the job you've been waiting for, keep reading.
What you'll own
- Damco's voice and editorial standards - the style guide, the do's and don'ts, the things we say and the things we never say. You codify it and defend it across every piece that ships.
- The Content team - ensuring they upskill themselves and produce highest quality of work.
- The production engine - the brief intake process, the queue, capacity planning, the per-format process runbooks, the supporting templates (SME inputs, fact-check, customer-story briefs).
- Quality of everything that ships - blogs, white papers, case studies, reports, ad copy, sales decks, scripts, emails, landing pages, social. If your teams name is on it, you own how good it is.
- The partnership with Mandator teams - Branding, Category Marketing, Inbound, Outbound, Sales. You're the single point they brief into, and the person they trust to push back when a brief isn't strong enough.
- Reporting - Report on what shipped, what worked, and what's next monthly and quarterly to the Marketing Lead.
What success looks like
- Voice consistency across every piece
- On-time, on-brief delivery
- The team grows and wants to stay
- You can name whats working and what isn't
Who you are
- You have unforgiving opinions and editorial taste. You know the difference between a sentence that lands and one that's almost there.
- You're AI-native. LLMs live in your daily workflow, for research, ideation, first drafts, editing, repurposing, and you have strong opinions about which tools earn their keep and which don't.
- You like running a queue. You enjoy the operating side of editorial capacity, cadence, handoffs, deadlines - not just the writing.
- You're a coach. You'd rather grow a writer for a year than ship faster by writing it yourself.
- You move fast. You'd rather ship a B+ thing this week than a perfect thing next quarter.
What you bring
- 8+ years in B2B content marketing, content strategy, or editorial leadership. At least 2+ years managing a team of writers is required.
- Demonstrated ownership of voice + style at a B2B brand - you've written or owned a voice doc, defended it, and made it stick across a content team.
- Range across formats - long-form (white papers, case studies, blogs), short-form (ads, social, emails), and sales/event collateral. You don't have to be the best at every format; you have to have taste across all of them.
- Operating chops - you've designed editorial workflows, run a queue, managed capacity, and lived in a project tracker (Notion, Asana, ClickUp, whatever).
- Comfort in B2B IT/tech/enterprise services context - a track record of climbing a steep technical learning curve quickly. You don't have to be deeply technical, but you can't be allergic to it.
- Proof of work - a portfolio of pieces you've personally edited or shipped, plus a track record of a team you've nurtured.
*Must Have
- In last 7-8 years, you've worked only in IT services, enterprise SaaS, or a B2B firm selling to CTOs / CIOs.
What we offer
- Full ownership of the voice and the engine - you set the standard for how Damco sounds and how Damcos content gets made.
- Real autonomy. No one above you second-guessing your editorial calls. You own the standards and you own the team.
- A function where AI is encouraged, resourced, and budgeted for not feared. You won't have to fight to use the tools you want.
- Lead the team from day one - growing as the marketing function scales over FY2627.
- A direct line to senior leadership.
