Role Overview
The Head of Maintenance and Technical will lead the plant maintenance team, ensuring reliability and efficiency across Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation, Engineering Stores, and Civil works within the manufacturing unit. The role focuses on driving maintenance excellence, energy conservation, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with HSE and global quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the maintenance team across Mechanical, E&I, Engineering Stores, and Civil domains.
- Improve maintenance efficiency through work order flow management and CMMS utilization.
- Run reliability improvement programs targeting key KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, and emergency incident rates.
- Oversee technical maintenance for non‑manufacturing areas and planned maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of utilities (electricity, steam, etc.) critical to plant operations.
- Coach and train team members on best maintenance practices, HSE, and project governance.
- Prepare and execute plant improvement, compliance, and repair projects within scope, time, and budget.
- Champion maintenance excellence programs aligned with global standards, monitoring and reviewing critical KPIs.
- Plan and drive energy management initiatives in accordance with annual production plans.
- Lead energy conservation programs to optimize total energy consumption and cost.
- Support manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement initiatives in line with the master plan.
- Assist the HSE function in adhering to global safety and environmental guidelines.
- Budget, control, and report maintenance expenses and inventory management.
- Coordinate with external suppliers for cost optimisation and alternative solutions.
Qualifications
- 15–18+ years of experience in mechanical operations within a comparable industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to empower and develop teams.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic orientation.
- Experience with reliability, KPI management, and energy‑management initiatives.
- Knowledge of HSE, procurement, budgeting, and CMMS systems.
