Job summary

The role focuses on plant-level budgeting, CAPEX, working capital, and robust financial processes, with SAP/ERP and dashboards to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• CA and CMA with 15-20 years in manufacturing finance, plant finance, accounting, costing or controlling.
• Proven leadership experience over a large plant or multiple manufacturing units.
• Strong grounding in product costing, budgeting, MIS, inventory control and CAPEX.

We are looking for an experienced Head - Finance, Manufacturing Operations to lead finance, accounting, costing and financial controls across all our manufacturing units.

Role Summary

The role will work closely with the Group Finance Head, Plant Heads and operational teams to improve cost visibility, financial discipline, working capital, controls and plant-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting across all manufacturing units.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual closing.
• Drive plant budgeting, forecasting, MIS and performance reviews.
• Strengthen product costing, standard costing and cost-centre accounting.
• Analyse variances in raw materials, power, fuel, yield, scrap, consumables, manpower, maintenance and overheads.
• Partner with Plant Heads to identify cost savings and profitability improvements.
• Strengthen controls over inventory, stores, spares, scrap, fixed assets and working capital.
• Monitor plant CAPEX, project costs, commitments, capitalization and returns.
• Ensure plant-level statutory compliance and coordinate internal, statutory and cost audits.
• Standardize financial processes, controls and reporting across units.
• Drive effective use of SAP/ERP, digital dashboards and finance automation.
• Build and lead plant finance and accounts teams across locations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant with 15-20 years of experience in manufacturing finance, plant finance, accounting, costing or controlling.
• At least five years in a leadership role covering a large plant or multiple manufacturing units.
• Strong experience in product costing, variance analysis, budgeting, MIS, inventory control, CAPEX and working capital.
• Sound knowledge of accounting, audits, GST and plant-level financial compliance.
• Strong business-partnering experience with plant, production, maintenance, procurement and commercial teams.
• Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP and manufacturing-finance systems.
• Ability to identify financial leakages, challenge assumptions and drive corrective action.
• Strong analytical, leadership and execution capabilities.
• Candidates from steel, metals, cement, heavy engineering or other process industries will be preferred.
• Experience in steel melting shops, billets, rolling mills or TMT/rebar operations will be an advantage.
• Willingness to be based in Durgapur and travel to other manufacturing units when required.
