Job summary

Welspun World in India is seeking an experienced HSE leader to develop and drive the organization’s health, safety, and environment strategy across operations, projects, and facilities.

You will lead the implementation of risk assessment programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate audits with authorities, while fostering a strong safety culture through visible leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) strategy, policies, and management systems.
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure that HSE objectives are aligned with corporate goals.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies during audits, inspections, and reporting.
• Identify, assess, and control potential HSE risks within operations, projects, and facilities.
• Oversee the development and implementation of risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) programs.
• Ensure effective incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of HSE systems and performance.
• Develop and communicate the organization’s HSE vision, objectives, and targets.
• Prepare annual HSE plans and budgets in line with corporate goals.
• Lead HSE meetings and promote safety culture through leadership visibility.
• Maintain a register of applicable HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
• Maintain documentation and evidence for certification and external audits.
