Job summary

Commercial Auto Products in Lucknow seeks Head-Design & Development to lead engineering team, own thermal and mechanical design of heat exchangers, ensure compliance with customer requirements, and drive new product development to enhance performance and reduce cost.

You will manage a team of design engineers and draughtsmen, review drawings, select materials, support sales with RFQs, and ensure on-time deliverables under ISO 9001. Exposure to radiators and cooling systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering required.
• Hands-on CAD experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Experience leading a design team.
• Strong documentation skills and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal design and rating of heat exchangers.
• Oversee mechanical design.
• Review GA drawings, calculations, BOMs before release.
• Select materials suited to process conditions, corrosion and cost.
• Drive new product development, design standardization and value engineering.
• Support the sales team with technical inputs for RFQs, estimates and quote clarifications.
• Coordinate with customers on drawing approvals and technical queries.
• Work with production and QA/QC on manufacturability, deviations and testing requirements.
• Lead, mentor and allocate work to design engineers and draughtsmen
• Manage design schedules to ensure on-time project deliverables.
• Maintain design procedures and in line with ISO 9001.

Experience: 1015 years in heat exchanger, including at least 5 years leading a team, preferably with exposure to Radiators, Cooling Systems and related automotive products.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Design & Development Manager to lead our engineering team. You will own the thermal and mechanical design of our products, ensure every design complies with applicable customer requirements, and drive new product development to improve performance and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead thermal design and rating of heat exchangers

• Review and approve GA and fabrication drawings, design calculations, datasheets and BOMs before release.
