Job summary

Macroverse Industrial Solutions in Chennai seeks a Head of Design & Engineering to lead and build the function for safe, optimized, standardised lifting solutions and manufacturing readiness. You will drive engineering standardization, design for manufacturability and cost optimization while reducing lead times and founder dependency.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of relevant experience in EOT crane/material-handling design with IS/FEM standards.
• Experience leading and developing a design team and building standardized engineering systems is essential.
• Strong knowledge of structural & mechanical calculations and BOM management.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete design & engineering of EOT cranes and customized lifting systems.
• Own technical calculations, design validation and compliance with applicable IS/FEM/customer standards.
• Drive product standardization and modular/configurable design while retaining customization capability.
• Establish the engineering flow from customer requirement -> GA -> detailed design -> BOM -> manufacturing release.
• Lead SolidWorks/3D design implementation, parametric models and engineering libraries.
• Ensure drawings and BOMs are accurate and released on committed timelines.
• Drive Design for Manufacturing, value engineering and cost optimization without compromising safety or reliability.
• Reduce design errors, rework and site modifications through design reviews and root-cause analysis.
• Build engineering standards, SOPs, calculation templates and technical documentation.
• Recruit, mentor and develop a strong engineering team while reducing key-person/founder dependency.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Purchase, Projects, Quality, Installation and Service.

Role Purpose :

Preferred Candidates :

10-15+ years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of EOT crane/material-handling design, structural & mechanical calculations, IS/FEM standards, AutoCAD, SolidWorks/3D design, BOM, DFM and value engineering. Experience in leading and developing a design team and building standardized engineering systems is essential.
