Qualifications

• Hands-on proficiency in AL development and BC extension architecture.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Head Business Central (Techno-Functional) to lead the strategy, architecture, implementation, and growth of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions. The role requires a strong combination of functional expertise, technical leadership, ERP transformation experience, and practice management capabilities.

The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end ERP delivery, manage cross-functional and distributed teams, oversee solution architecture and integrations, manage practice P&L, and collaborate with senior business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing ERP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Practice Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central practice.


• Drive practice growth, business development, pre-sales, solution positioning, and client acquisition.


• Establish delivery frameworks, reusable assets, governance standards, and Microsoft-aligned best practices.


• Manage practice P&L, resource utilization, billing rates, profitability, and margin governance.


• Identify opportunities to leverage Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, and other Microsoft ecosystem capabilities.

2. Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Lead end-to-end Business Central solution architecture across Finance, Supply Chain Management, Inventory, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing, Projects, and Service modules.


• Design and oversee integrations using Azure Integration Services, Dataverse, Power Platform connectors, APIs, and web services.


• Govern AL (Application Language) development, extension architecture, customizations, and AppSource-compliant development practices.


• Lead complex, multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-country ERP implementations, including localization and regulatory compliance.


• Ensure scalable, secure, high-performance solutions aligned with business requirements and Microsoft standards.

3. ERP Delivery & Program Management

• Oversee multiple Business Central implementation, migration, and transformation programs.


• Ensure on-time delivery within defined scope, budget, quality standards, and business objectives.


• Establish project governance, delivery methodologies, quality benchmarks, and risk management frameworks.


• Drive Agile/Scrum practices using Azure DevOps for project tracking, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.


• Manage project dependencies, escalations, stakeholder expectations, and delivery performance.

4. Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams of functional consultants, AL developers, solution architects, and technical specialists.


• Drive capability development, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation.


• Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and competency gap assessments.


• Manage global and distributed teams while ensuring delivery excellence and resource optimization.

5. Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management

• Act as an executive sponsor and trusted advisor to strategic clients and enterprise stakeholders, including CFOs, COOs, and CIOs.


• Lead Executive Business Reviews (EBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and strategic transformation discussions.


• Manage client escalations, project health, risk mitigation, and customer success initiatives.


• Drive adoption of Business Central innovations, including Copilot capabilities, AI-powered forecasting, and embedded analytics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 12+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementations, technical-functional consulting, and practice leadership.


• Proven experience leading large-scale ERP implementations, digital transformation initiatives, and complex enterprise engagements.


• Strong techno-functional expertise across Finance, Supply Chain Management, Inventory, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing, Projects, and Service modules.


• Hands-on proficiency in AL development, Business Central extension architecture, APIs, and web services integration.


• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.


• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Dataverse, and Microsoft 365 integrations.


• Demonstrated experience in practice management, P&L ownership, utilization, billing rates, profitability, and margin optimization.


• Experience with the Microsoft Partner ecosystem, including CSP, LSP, and ISV partnerships, and co-selling with Microsoft field teams.


• Proven ability to manage global or geographically distributed teams.


• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience with multi-country ERP rollouts, regulatory localization, and complex enterprise integrations.


• Knowledge of Azure Integration Services, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and release management.


• Exposure to AI-enabled ERP capabilities, Copilot, predictive forecasting, and embedded business analytics.


• Strong commercial acumen, business development, solution consulting, and client relationship management skills.
