Job summary

e-Hireo in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Hardware Lead for VCU & Cluster Systems for EV platform. The role entails owning hardware architecture across MCU control, SOM compute platforms, and power domains, ensuring scalable designs aligned with the product roadmap.

The candidate will lead high-speed interface design, robust communication frameworks between vehicle subsystems, EMI/EMC compliance, and multi-layer PCB development while coordinating with EMS partners for production readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own hardware architecture for MCU-based control systems, SOM-based compute platforms, compute partitioning and peripheral allocation, and power architecture and domain separation.
  • Ensure designs are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with product roadmap.
  • Design and implement robust, high-reliability communication frameworks between distributed vehicle subsystems.
  • Evaluate interface technologies based on bandwidth, latency, determinism, and reliability requirements.
  • Architect communication to support high-speed data transfer, low-speed control and diagnostics, and redundancy/fallback mechanisms.
  • Ensure reliable operation under electrical noise, EMI/EMC constraints, and real-world disturbances.
  • Lead schematic design and multi-layer PCB development for mixed-signal and high-speed systems, focusing on signal/power integrity and grounding.
  • Conduct rigorous design and layout reviews.
  • Own selection of MCUs for control systems, SOM modules for compute platforms, memory and key peripherals.
  • Balance performance, BOM cost, and long-term availability; drive multi-source strategies to mitigate supply chain risks; BOM cost optimization while maintaining quality; ensure component lifecycle alignment and sourcing resilience.
  • DFM/ DFA/ DFT and efficient manufacturing and test coverage; collaborate with EMS partners for production readiness.
  • Own strategies to achieve first-pass EMI/EMC compliance; grounding, filtering, shielding; drive pre-compliance validation and certification readiness.
