Job summary

ALTEN India is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer specializing in Hardware Design to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. You will lead hardware design activities, guide PCB layout, and ensure compliance with EMI/EMC standards, while contributing to design reviews and bring-up of new boards.

The role requires 2–4 years of hardware design experience, proficiency with MCUs/MPUs/PLDs, and hands-on testing across digital and analog boards. Occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation.
• 2-4 years of hardware design experience.
• Proficient in hardware circuit design with MCUs, MPUs, and PLDs.
• Experience with DC-DC and AC-DC power supply design.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware circuits with MCUs, MPUs, and PLDs.
• Guide PCB layout engineers during the layout process.
• Write test drivers for Linux and u-boot during board bring-up.
• Troubleshoot digital and analog boards.
• Perform board-level, box-level, and environmental testing.
• Ensure designs meet environmental and EMI/EMC standards (DO-160, MIL-810F, MIL-461E).
• Use schematic tools and simulations for design analysis.
• Participate in design reviews and run simulations.
• Lead the team in bringing up new hardware boards and resolving challenges.

Sr. Systems Engineer - Hardware Design

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Systems Engineer specializing in Hardware Design to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in advancing our technological projects and ensuring the development of cutting-edge hardware solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership abilities to guide the design and implementation of sophisticated hardware systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware circuits involving microcontrollers, microprocessors, and PLDs.
• Implement signal conditioning and protection circuits for both analog and digital I/O.
• Guide PCB design engineers during the PCB layout process.
• Write test drivers to test hardware interfaces for Linux and uboot during board bring-up.
• Conduct troubleshooting of digital and analog boards.
• Perform board-level, box-level, and environmental testing.
• Ensure design requirements meet environmental and EMI/EMC standards such as DO-160, MIL-810F, and MIL-461E.
• Utilize schematic design tools and simulation software for design analysis.
• Participate in high-level design reviews and contribute to design analysis and simulations.
• Lead the team in bringing up new hardware boards and resolving technical challenges.

Qualification Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation.
• 2-4 years of experience in hardware design.
• Proficient in hardware circuit design involving microcontrollers, microprocessors, and PLDs.
• Experience with power supply design using DC-DC and AC-DC converters.
• Knowledgeable in schematic design tools and able to guide PCB design engineers.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and testing methodologies for digital and analog boards.
• Familiarity with high-level design, design analysis, simulations, and testing.
• Ability to work against tight deadlines with a high degree of commitment and ownership.
• Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and passion for product development.
• Possibility of short-term and long-term travel to the UK, US, Europe, and within India.
