Job summary

Cyient in Bengaluru seeks a Hardware Design Engineer to design microcontroller boards and peripheral circuits, handling analog and digital circuitry and power supplies. You will work with CAD tools (Altium/ORCAD/Mentor Graphics) and contribute to EMI/EMC compliant designs, layout guidelines, and board bring-up.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will earn hands-on experience in system-level testing and documentation such as HDDs and test reports.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation related branches.
• Experience in designing microcontroller boards and associated peripheral circuits.
• Proficient in analog and digital circuit design and board level power supply design (Buck, Boost, LDO, Linear).
• Knowledge of interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.
• Experience with CAD packages (Altium/ORCAD/Mentor Graphics) for schematic capture and PCB layout design.
• Knowledge of component selections, BOM, thermal calculations and SPICE simulations.
• Experience in EMI/EMC compliant design and in preparing layout guidelines and reviews.
• Experience in board bring-up, testing and troubleshooting of electronic circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microcontroller boards with peripheral circuits.
• Perform analog/digital circuit design and power supply topologies.
• Create and review schematics and PCB layouts in CAD tools.
• Carry out EMI/EMC compliance considerations and thermal analyses.
• Prepare documents like HDD, test plans and test reports.
• Lead board bring-up, testing and troubleshooting during validation.

Hardware Design Engineer----Experience: 2 to 7 years

Qualification: BE/B-Tech/ME/MTech (Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation related branches)

• Experience in designing microcontroller boards and associated peripheral circuits.
• Experience in analog and digital circuit design, board level power supply design (Buck, Boost, LDO, Linear).
• Knowledge in communication interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.
• Experience with CAD packages (Altium/ORCAD/Mentor Graphics) for schematic capture and PCB layout design.
• Knowledge of components selections/design, BOM preparation, thermal calculations, and spice simulations.
• Experience in EMI/EMC compliant design.
• Experience in preparing layout guidelines and review.
• Experience in preparing documents like HDD, test plan, test report etc.
• Experience in board bring-up, testing and troubleshooting the electronic circuits.
• Experience in using equipment’s like DSO, signal generator, thermal imager, data logger.
• Experience in system level testing and validation of electronic products.
• Experience in actuator and motor control circuit design (BDC, BLDC, stepper).

Added Advantages:

• Experience in PSPICE, Allegro, Altium & Mentor Graphics
