Job summary

JobItUs in Noida seeks a seasoned Electronics Hardware Architect with 8–12 years of experience to lead the design of rugged embedded systems for defence and aerospace. You will own the hardware architecture, guide cross-functional teams, define design methodologies, ensure MIL-STD and EMI/EMC compliance, and drive products from concept through qualification.

The role covers analogue, mixed-signal and digital design, power electronics, FPGA-based systems, high-speed PCB layout and hardware

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Analog, Mixed-Signal and Digital Hardware Architecture.
  • Experience with interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS-232/422/485, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553.
  • Proficient in LTSpice or PSpice for analog simulations; stability and worst-case analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Define overall hardware architecture for complex embedded electronic systems for defence/aerospace.
  • Lead the hardware development lifecycle from requirements to production support.
  • Drive design reviews, PCB layout reviews, and DFM/DTI/DFR/DFS practices.
  • Interface with customers and field teams during reviews and design discussions.
  • Mentor hardware engineers and establish design guidelines.

Job profile

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Hardware Architect (8 to 12 Years of experience) to lead the design and development of advanced electronic systems for Defence, Aerospace, and Mission-Critical applications. The ideal candidate shall possess strong expertise in Analog Electronics, Mixed-Signal Design, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, FPGA-based systems, and High-Speed PCB Design, with a proven track record of delivering rugged military-grade hardware. The candidate will own the complete hardware architecture, guide engineering teams, establish design methodologies, ensure compliance with defence standards and drive products from concept through qualification and production.

Job Role and Responsibilities
  1. Define the overall hardware architecture for complex embedded electronic systems for defence and aerospace applications.
  2. Lead the complete hardware development lifecycle from system requirements, architecture definition, schematic design, PCB reviews, prototype development, qualification, production support and lifecycle management.
  3. Work instrumentation amplifiers, Sensor signal conditioning, Active filters, precision ADC/DAC interfaces, Voltage and current measurement circuits, Isolation circuits, Aanalog multiplexing.
  4. Guide team to design high-performance Mixed-Signal hardware integrating analog front-end circuitry with high-speed digital processing.
  5. Lead Digital Hardware design using Microcontrollers, Microprocessors, DSPs, FPGA and CPLD.
  6. Define communication architectures using UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, USB and other defence interfaces.
  7. Define power architecture including DC-DC converters, LDOs, power sequencing, battery management, redundancy, protection circuits, and thermal management.
  8. Perform architecture reviews covering Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, grounding, shielding, isolation, impedance control and high-speed PCB routing.
  9. Lead schematic reviews, PCB layout reviews, stack-up definition, component selection and technology selection
  10. Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), Design for Reliability (DFR), Design for Safety (DFS) and lifecycle management.
  11. Lead board bring-up, hardware debugging, integration, root cause analysis and field failure investigations.
  12. Define qualification strategy and ensure compliance with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL STD-704, DO-160, JSS-55555 and other applicable standards.
  13. Develop EMI/EMC mitigation strategies including grounding, shielding, filtering, surge suppression, ESD protection, lightning protection and cable interface design.
  14. Perform component-derating analysis, FMEA, FMEDA, thermal analysis, MTBF and reliability prediction.
  15. Interface with customers including DRDO, HAL, BEL, ISRO, DPSUs and Armed Forces during technical reviews and design discussions.
  16. Mentor Hardware Engineers and establish hardware design guidelines, review mechanisms and engineering best practices.
  17. Coordinate with Firmware, FPGA, Mechanical, Production, Quality Assurance and Project Management teams.
  18. Prepare and review Hardware Architecture Documents, Design Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Qualification Plans, Test Procedures, Compliance Reports and Technical Reports. Lead the team to prepare PDR, CDR, HDD, BOM, Traceability Matrices etc.
  19. Support proposal preparation, technical estimation, technology roadmap and customer presentations.
Skills & Experience Mandatory
  1. Strong expertise in Analog, Mixed-Signal and Digital Hardware Architecture.
  2. Experience with communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, LVDS and HDMI
  3. Strong knowledge of LTSpice, PSpice or equivalent simulation tools with the ability to perform Analog circuit simulation, stability analysis, transient analysis, AC analysis, Monte Carlo analysis and worst-case analysis.
  4. Thorough understanding of Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, Thermal Analysis and PCB Stack-up Design.
  5. Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC design techniques and military qualification requirements.
  6. Experience in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro or Mentor Graphics for schematic capture and PCB design reviews.
  7. Hands-on experience with Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Function Generators, Electronic Loads and Power Analyzers.
  8. Experience in Reliability Engineering including Component Derating, MTBF, MTTR, FMEA, FMEDA and WCCA.
  9. Strong understanding of defence standards including MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, DO 160 and IPC standards.
  10. Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary hardware development teams.
  11. Excellent analytical, debugging and technical decision-making skills.
Preferred
  1. Experience in rugged electronics for Airborne, Naval or Land-based Defence Systems.
  2. Experience in Radar, Avionics, Communication Systems, Electronic Warfare, Electro Optics or Mission Computers.
  3. Experience delivering products to DRDO, HAL, BEL, ISRO, Indian Armed Forces or Private Defence Organizations.
  4. Exposure to Functional Safety and Secure Hardware Design.
