Job summary

Jindal Power is seeking a Safety Training Specialist to prepare and update training materials, plan and deliver safety programs on PPE, LOTO and emergency procedures. The role also involves assessing competency through tests and practicals, and coordinating emergency drills to ensure workforce readiness.

You will identify training needs via inspections and investigations, organize safety campaigns, maintain training records, and support audits and high‑risk activity training across sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update training materials, presentations, handouts and assessments per standards and laws.
• Plan, organize and deliver safety training on PPE, PTW, LOTO, work at height, confined space and emergencies.
• Identify training needs through inspections, audits, incidents and supervisor interactions.
• Evaluate understanding via tests, practicals and workplace observations.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness training, mock drills and evacuation exercises.
• Provide specialized safety training for high‑risk activities and ensure safe work procedures.
• Organize safety campaigns, Safety Week activities, quizzes and promotional programs.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations by identifying training gaps and corrective actions.
• Maintain records of attendance, competency assessments, certifications and refresher schedules.
• Design safety displays as per plant needs.
• Travel to other locations for training support as required.
• Coordinate with department heads and site management for schedules and competency development.
• Support safety audits and inspections by internal teams, clients and regulatory authorities.

Roles and Responsibility/Duties to be performed

• Prepare and update training materials, presentations, handouts, and assessment questionnaires as per company standards and legal requirements.
• Plan, organize, and deliver safety training programs on various topics such as PPE, PTW, LOTO, work at height, confined space entry, and emergency response etc.
• Identify training needs through workplace inspections, audits, incident investigations, and interactions with employees and supervisors.
• Evaluate employee understanding and competency through written tests, practical demonstrations, and workplace observations.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness training, mock drills, and evacuation exercises to ensure workforce readiness during emergencies
• Provide specialized safety training to employees engaged in high-risk activities and ensure compliance with safe work procedures
• Organize safety campaigns, Safety Week activities, quizzes, competitions, and promotional programs to enhance safety culture.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations by identifying training gaps and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of training attendance, competency assessments, certifications, and refresher training schedules.
• Designing safety display as per plant need.
• Travel to other location training related for support as per requirement of organization.
