Job summary

CERATIZIT India Pvt. Ltd in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical Engineer focused on tool design and drafting. You will prepare drawings in Auto CAD and 3D models in UG NX, maintain BOMs and engineering records, and drive tool geometry optimization for customer projects.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical Engineering with strong CAD/CAM skills, doc management experience, and the ability to meet tight lead times within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Strong knowledge of UG NX, AutoCAD and CAD-CAM for 3D modeling/drafting.
• Experience with PLM and SAP for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotation drawings in Auto CAD within lead time.
• Create manufacturing drawings and 3D models using UG NX within lead time.
• Document and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs and records in PLM, SAP.
• Control and revise engineering documents and drawings.
• Update drawings per DMR requirements and ensure proper documentation.
• Design and develop standard and special CNC cutting tools as per customer needs.
• Prepare detailed part drawings, assembly drawings and manufacturing specs for production.
• Select and optimize cutting tool geometry, materials, tolerances and specs.
• Maintain revision history and drawing traceability per procedures.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Preparation of quotation drawings in Auto CAD within the specified lead time.
• Preparation of manufacturing drawings and 3D models using UG NX within the specified lead time.
• Documentation and maintenance of engineering drawings, BOMs, and design records in PLM, SAP, and departmental databases.
• Controlling and revision management of DAP, production drawings, and related engineering documents.
• Updating drawings and related documents as per DMR requirements and ensuring proper documentation.
• Design and development of standard and special CNC cutting tools as per customer requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Preparation of detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing specifications for production.
• Selection and optimization of cutting tool geometry, tool materials, tolerances, and technical specifications.
• Maintain design revision history, drawing traceability, and engineering documentation as per company procedures.

Profile & Requirements

• BE in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in UG NX, Design / CAD-CAM and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of CNC Cutting Tool design, tool geometry, and machining principles.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC Grinding, CNC Machining, Heat Treatment, and Coating will be an added advantage.
• Proficient documentation and record management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work independently and meet project timelines and departmental objectives.
