Job summary

Pallavi Boduppal Educational Society seeks a dedicated teacher to foster a safe and inclusive classroom for primary students. You will plan engaging lessons, track progress, provide targeted support, and maintain thorough academic records.

You will also partner with counsellors and parents, ensuring timely communication, care calls, and adherence to school policies while contributing to events and student welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment.
  • Establish and reinforce classroom routines, rules, and age-appropriate discipline.
  • Ensure students are punctual, prepared, and actively engaged in learning.
  • Monitor student behaviour, attendance, hygiene, and overall well-being.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, organised, and displays students learning appropriately.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons as per the curriculum and academic plan.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the lesson plans and learning outcomes.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies based on students’ learning needs and abilities.
  • Monitor students’ academic progress through classwork, assessments, activities, and observations.
  • Provide timely support and intervention for students who require additional academic assistance.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, assessment records, and student portfolios.
  • Complete the syllabus within the prescribed timeline without compromising learning quality.
  • Build positive relationships with students and create a supportive classroom environment.
  • Identify students’ academic, behavioural, emotional, or social concerns at an early stage.
  • Coordinate with the Counsellor, Coordinator, and parents whenever intervention is required.
  • Encourage confidence, communication, creativity, collaboration, independence, and good values.
  • Promote responsible behaviour, respect, empathy, and positive peer relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the school and parents for the class.
  • Communicate student progress, concerns, achievements, and important school updates professionally.
  • Conduct and follow up on Care Calls within the prescribed TAT.
  • Ensure parent concerns are acknowledged, addressed, and followed up until closure.
  • Maintain professional and constructive communication with parents at all times.
  • Participate actively in PTMs and ensure accurate documentation of parent feedback.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance and ensure timely submission of attendance records.
  • Follow up on prolonged or irregular absences as per school procedure.
  • Maintain updated student information, emergency details, medical/allergy information, and other required records.
  • Ensure all classroom documentation is updated and submitted within deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Grade 2 Coordinator, subject teachers, counsellor, and support staff.
  • Coordinate with subject teachers regarding students’ academic and behavioural progress.
  • Attend grade-level meetings and implement instructions provided by the Coordinator/HM/Principal.
  • Share relevant student concerns with the appropriate authority without delay.
  • Support school events, assemblies, celebrations, activities, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Ensure students are supervised appropriately during classroom and transition periods.
  • Follow all school safety, child protection, emergency, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, bullying, behavioural concerns, or safety issues immediately.
  • Never leave students unsupervised or permit unauthorised movement from the classroom.
  • Ensure students follow safe practices during activities, field trips, and school events.
  • Assign meaningful, age-appropriate homework aligned with classroom learning.
  • Monitor completion and provide timely feedback.
  • Avoid excessive or repetitive homework.
  • Ensure classwork and notebooks are regularly checked and maintained.
  • Be punctual, regular, appropriately dressed, and professionally presentable.
  • Attend all staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and professional development programmes.
  • Complete assigned reports and documentation within the stipulated timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent, and school information.
  • Follow school policies, procedures, academic calendars, and instructions from management.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and a child-centric approach.
