Job summary

iTeach Schools is seeking a Government Partnerships & Expansion Associate to support on-ground landscape studies, data gathering, and stakeholder engagement for expansion in Mumbai and beyond. The role sits in the Growth team, coordinating with municipal bodies and education departments.

You will identify opportunities, build relationships with key officials, and manage compliance and tender activities to enable rapid school expansion in Maharashtra.

Qualifications

• Graduate or above is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in social sector work.
• Prior experience working with the government or exposure to public field-based work is mandatory.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and typing in Marathi and English.

Responsibilities

• Expansion Work: study landscapes in Municipal Corporations, gather ground data, and inform expansion decisions.
• Support proposal and tender documentation for new Municipal Corporation opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with government stakeholders and serve as day-to-day contact for expansion proposals.

Role Summary

iTeach is scaling fast — from 4,500 to 10,000+ students over the next 5 years, through 10-12 new schools across Maharashtra's Municipal Corporations. This role sits within our Growth team and is where that growth gets built on the ground: identifying new opportunities, gathering the data that shapes our expansion decisions, and keeping our government stakeholder relationships strong.

There are three key parts of the Government Partnerships & Expansion Associate role.

A. Expansion Work

• Support on-ground landscape studies in current and prospective Municipal Corporations — finding space, infrastructure availability, and educational gaps.
• Conduct field visits and gather ground-level data to inform which municipal corporation iTeach expands to next.
• Help identify and open initial conversations with local stakeholders and influential contacts in new areas.
• Support proposal and tender documentation as new Municipal Corporation opportunities move forward.
• Identify, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders — administrative (Municipal Corporation, Education Department, Zilla Parishad, State Government, SSC Board, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan) and political (Corporators, local leaders, community influencers).
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact between iTeach Schools and government stakeholders, regarding everything related to expansion proposals.
• Resolve issues between government officers and iTeach Schools.
• Keep the team updated on relevant policy and procedural changes.

C. Compliance & Systemic Reform

• Secure all necessary permissions and compliances for new schools from relevant departments.

Education and Competencies

• Required: Graduate or above.
• Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in social sector work.
• Mandatory: Prior experience working with the government, or exposure to public field-based work.
• Mandatory: Proficiency in reading, writing, and typing in Marathi and English.

Location

• Mumbai based. Willing and able to travel within Greater Mumbai and occasionally other Municipal Corporations with prospective expansion opportunities.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position ranges from 4.32 - 5.28 LPA CTC, and we are dedicated to providing top-notch industry benefits.
