Job summary

Excitel Broadband is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to manage Linux/Windows servers and lead virtualization on a private cloud. You will oversee storage, databases, backups, and network services while implementing security hardening and DR strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of proven work experience as a system administrator.
• Extensive Linux and Windows administration experience across enterprise environments.
• Strong virtualization and private cloud management skills.
• Experience with storage, databases, backups, and DR strategies.
• Solid networking, DNS, TLS, and security capabilities.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash) and GitHub workflows.
• Ability to document SOPs and maintain technical HOWTO guides.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure across Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in systems administration, virtualization, storage, database, and network management, with a strong focus on ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of infrastructure services.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing Linux and Windows serve environments, managing enterprise-grade virtualization on private cloud platforms, and handling storage solutions and database systems. You will play a key role in maintaining network integrity, implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, and supporting overall infrastructure performance.

Linux and Windows Administration

• Software RAID installation and configuration
• OS patches update and fix vulnerability
• Tacacs configuration and management
• Radius and RadMan configuration and management
• DNS servers management (bind9)
• DNS records management
• Docker installation and configuration
• Apache and/or Nginx configuration and management
• Managing PHP modules, including php-fpm
• Auto time synchronization (Chroync) across networks

Database Administration

Monitoring

• In-depth knowledge of one or more Linux: CentOS, Alma Linux, Ubuntu, Redhat, etc.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of KVM Hypervisor
• Bash Scripting knowledge is a must
• GitHub knowledge
• Basic understanding for managing Windows servers
• Experience with any storage management system will be beneficial
• Experience with Storpool will be a great advantage
• Experience with any backup system, preferably Bareos
• Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps processes will be an added advantage
• Able and willing to create and maintain SOPs and HOWTO documentation
• Has the ability to work alone for all the troubleshooting part
• Excellent analytical & problem solving & decision making skills.
• Business proficiency in English and excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

Work Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven work experience as Sys admin of 10+ years.
