Job summary

Visteon is seeking a Global Software Quality Manager to drive software quality excellence across worldwide programs from Chennai. You will ensure customer requirements are met, lead audits, coach teams in problem-solving, and guide quality improvements across software, hardware, and manufacturing interfaces.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, KPI tracking, and proactive risk mitigation to sustain high-quality releases and customer satisfaction in a dynamic automotive tech

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in software quality management, preferably in a global setting.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards (ISO, ASPICE, IATF).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with customer-facing roles and audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze software quality KPIs across global programs and define countermeasures.
  • Plan and execute QA activities for product changes with cross-functional impact.
  • Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are understood and implemented in the SDLC.
  • Coach engineering teams on problem-solving methodologies (8D, Kenshokai, 5 Whys).
  • Lead customer audits, prepare documentation, and align internal teams on quality expectations and actions.
  • Investigate customer complaints and warranty returns with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive internal initiatives to improve software quality processes, tools, and standards.
  • Define measurable quality targets and establish monitoring to ensure compliance.
  • Lead lessons learned sessions and share insights across programs and regions.
  • Track design deviation requests and change controls with risk assessment and approvals.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and validation to ensure release readiness.

Job Title: Global Software Quality Manager Location: Chennai Reports To: Director Role Summary: The Global Software Quality Manager is responsible for driving software quality excellence across global programs. This role ensures that customer requirements are met, internal processes are continuously improved, and quality KPIs are tracked and acted upon. The manager will lead quality initiatives, coach teams on problem-solving, and represent the organization during customer audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze key software quality performance indicators (KPIs) across global programs, and define effective countermeasures to address deviations or risks in quality performance.
  • Plan and execute quality assurance activities for product changes, ensuring thorough impact analysis across software, hardware, manufacturing, and customer-facing functions.
  • Ensure that customer-specific quality requirements are fully understood, documented, and implemented throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to engineering teams on structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Kenshokai, or 5 Whys, especially in response to development or field issues.
  • Take ownership of customer audits by preparing documentation, leading discussions, and aligning internal teams on quality-related expectations and corrective actions.
  • Investigate customer complaints and warranty returns by conducting root cause analysis and initiating structured problem-solving processes to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead internal initiatives aimed at improving software quality processes, tools, and standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across global teams.
  • Define measurable quality targets for products in production, and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure ongoing compliance and performance.
  • Facilitate and lead lessons learned sessions across programs and regions, ensuring that insights are captured, shared, and integrated into future projects.
  • Track and manage design deviation requests, process changes, and special software releases, ensuring proper documentation, risk assessment, and approvals.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, product design, and validation teams to prepare for product releases, ensuring all quality gates are met and release readiness is confirmed.
