Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement both Android Automotive OS platform features as well as Customer-facing features of our connected, embedded Infotainment System.
- Develop modules / components in the Android Automotive System and deliver software for software integration.
- Own multiple components within the Android Automotive System and ensure delivery of defined test strategies and documented results.
- Ensure traceability and consistency of requirements and feature maturity; participate in defect triaging and resolution.
- Collaborate with other domains to resolve dependencies on features and defects.
- Mentor less experienced team members to guide and assist them in completing their tasks on time.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- 9+ years of working experience in modifying Android framework components, system services, and the Android SDK.
- Solid working experience with the software life-cycle methodologies; agile, cross-functional team environment.
- Expert knowledge about the Android Framework, AOSP platform architecture, and related build system.
- Very good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Service Framework; knowledge of Android components: Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers, Treble Architecture, AIDL, Binder, ANR, SystemServer, InputServices, Permissions controllers, Android make and BP files, USB Management, PackageManagerService, SurfaceFlinger, Window and Activity Managers.
- Proficiency in Java, C and C++, and object-oriented programming; experience in IVI System Android Framework, FOTA, Location Services, Android Boot KPI optimizations, cluster rendering, navigation, automotive HMI, Vehicle HAL, custom HAL, GNSS HAL, Sensor HAL, and EVS HAL.
- Solid understanding of Android best practices for robustness and stability; hands-on experience writing unit tests for Android modules.
- Exposure to Android build system; knowledge of Git, GTest, SVN, and Tortoise configurations.
- Strong communication skills and good English (writing, documenting, conversation).
- Android Porting / Upgrading experience; understanding of CDD and GAS documents; exposure to CTS/VTS/STS/ACTS testing; knowledge of Android Middleware (Drivers, HAL, Libraries, Framework).
- Experience with testing tools (e.g., CANoe) is a plus; scripting (Shell / Python) for automation is an added advantage.
