Job summary

AXA XL is seeking an Instructional Designer to transform complex source materials into scalable learning solutions across digital and instructor-led formats. You will apply adult learning principles, develop storyboards, and ensure adherence to AXA XL standards.

You will collaborate with SMEs and media designers, drive design reviews, and measure impact through assessment tools. The role reports to Human Resources Business Partner and focuses on high-quality content delivery in a global context.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in instructional design and learning content development in a corporate or global environment.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles (andragogy), learning psychology, and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick evaluation).
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing materials and translating complex information into clear, engaging learning content.
  • Robust proficiency with learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to distill complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing content for multiple delivery formats (e-learning, ILT, virtual instructor-led training).
  • Robust attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

  • Conduct comprehensive needs analysis and learning requirements gathering with subject matter experts and business stakeholders.
  • Review and synthesize complex source materials, regulatory documents, and business content into clear learning objectives.
  • Develop instructional design strategies aligned with adult learning principles (andragogy) and AXA XL learning standards.
  • Create detailed content outlines, learning maps, and storyboards that guide development.
  • Design engaging learning experiences for multiple formats: e-learning modules, instructor-led training, blended solutions, and digital learning journeys.
  • Apply instructional design best practices (ADDIE, SAM, or similar methodologies) to ensure content effectiveness.
  • Develop assessment strategies and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes and business impact.
  • Create learner-centric content that balances compliance requirements with engagement and retention.
  • Partner with Global Learning Operations Manager, Media Designers, and subject matter experts to ensure seamless content development.
  • Facilitate design reviews and stakeholder validation sessions, incorporating feedback iteratively.
  • Maintain quality standards through peer review and adherence to AXA XL learning brand guidelines.
  • Support rollout coordination by providing facilitator guides, learner communications, and implementation support.
  • Analyze learning data and completion reports to identify content effectiveness and areas for enhancement.
  • Stay current with instructional design trends, adult learning research, and emerging learning technologies.
  • Recommend improvements to learning solutions based on learner feedback and performance data.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:
