Job summary

ISS STOXX is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our Mumbai team (Goregaon East). The role focuses on month-end close and efficient financial operations for the EMEA region, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of relevant experience, and experience with SAP, fixed assets, and audits. Fresh CA/CMA/ACCA candidates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• <1>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• <2>5+ years of relevant accounting experience; CA intermediate with 3 years articles preferred.
• <3>Recently qualified CA / CMA / ACCA candidates welcome.
• <4>Experience in fixed asset reconciliation, depreciation, compiling data for statutory auditors, accounts finalization & month-end close.
• <5>Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel etc.).
• <6>Good command of the English language (Speaking and Writing).
• <7>Experience in Swiss or German GAAP companies is preferable.
• <8>Experience in SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle month-end close for EMEA entities.
• Finalization up to the preparation of financial statements; prepare balance sheet reconciliation, MIS and bank reconciliations.
• Analyse trial balance, identify corrections and make adjusting entries.
• Coordinate with auditors and internal teams for interim and statutory audits.
• Review and approve invoices and expenses; post and process journal entries.
• Create and maintain fixed asset register and monthly reconciliation.
• Prepare reports and financial analysis for managers in EMEA/USA.
• Support knowledge of direct and indirect taxes in accounting.

ISS STOXX is actively hiring a General Ledger Accountant for the Mumbai (Goregaon East) location.

This role is open for candidates based in Mumbai only.

Shift timings would be 11AM to 8 PM

Overview:

As a General Ledger Accountant, ISS is seeking a highly driven and skilled professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounting activities for the EMEA region, with a strong focus on daily financial operations and month‑end close processes. You will ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions and collaborate closely with the finance team to meet critical month‑end timelines.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced accounting professionals, and we also welcome applications from recently qualified CA / CMA / ACCA candidates with relevant practical training exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Independently handle month‑end close for EMEA entities.
• Finalization up to the preparation of financial statements Prepare Balance sheet reconciliation, MIS and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to analyse trial balance, look for corrections and make the necessary adjusting entries.
• Coordinating with the auditors and several teams inhouse for interim audit as well as statutory audit of EMEA entities
• Reviewing & approving invoices, and expenses, Posting & processing journal entries in the accounting system.
• Create & maintain fixed asset register in the accounting system and prepare monthly reconciliation for the same.
• Can handle projects, prepare reports and financial analysis as requested by managers from EMEA/USA
• Working knowledge of direct and indirect taxes to help with accounting.
• Other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
• Graduates with 5+ years of relevant accounting experience or CA intermediate, with 3 years of experience with Articleship are preferred.
• Recently qualified CA / CMA / ACCA candidates (including those with articleship or mandatory practical training) are welcome to apply
• Experience in fixed asset reconciliation, depreciation, compiling data for statutory auditors, Accounts finalization & month‑end close process.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, excel etc.)
• Good command of the English language (Speaking and Writing)
• Experience in SAP is preferred.
• Experience in Swiss or German GAAP companies is preferable.
