Responsibilities

• Administer GitHub Enterprise environments for large enterprise clients.
• Implement SSO, SCIM provisioning and enterprise user management.
• Configure repository governance, branch protections and access controls.
• Lead greenfield rollout and ongoing maintenance of GitHub platforms.
• Support GHAS capabilities: code/secret scanning, Dependabot, security insights.
• Enable CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows with GitHub integrations.
• Manage Copilot licensing, usage tracking and cost optimization.

Position: GitHub Administrator

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and customer-facing GitHub Administrator who will work directly with the client's GitHub Platform Head in a Time & Material (T&M) engagement model. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in GitHub Enterprise administration, governance, security, and DevOps practices, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The candidate will be responsible for the greenfield rollout, administration, governance, security, and operational maintenance of GitHub Enterprise environments while ensuring platform stability, compliance, and developer productivity.

Key Responsibilities

GitHub Enterprise Administration

• Administer GitHub Enterprise environments for large enterprise customers.
• Manage enterprise accounts, organizations, repositories, teams, and user access in alignment with security and compliance requirements.
• Configure and maintain repository structures, governance standards, and access controls.
• Perform greenfield rollout of new GitHub Enterprise instances and support ongoing operational maintenance.

Identity & Access Management

• Implement and maintain authentication and authorization mechanisms including:
• Single Sign-On (SSO)
• SCIM Provisioning
• Enterprise Managed Users (EMU)
• Ensure secure onboarding/offboarding and access governance across enterprise environments.

Repository Governance & Security

• Configure and enforce:
• Branch protection rules
• Repository policies
• Rulesets
• Code security controls
• Drive repository governance best practices across development teams.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards.

GitHub Advanced Security

• Administer and support GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) capabilities:
• Code Scanning
• Secret Scanning
• Dependabot
• Security Insights
• Monitor, investigate, and remediate security findings.

CI/CD & DevOps Enablement

• Hands-on experience in implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
• Collaborate with development and platform teams to optimize GitHub-based DevOps workflows.
• Support integration of GitHub with enterprise DevOps toolchains.

GitHub Copilot Administration

• Manage GitHub Copilot rollout and adoption.
• Administer licensing, usage tracking, and governance.
• Monitor utilization and support cost optimization initiatives across business units.
