You will prepare GIS road networks, perform spatial analyses, develop 2D CAD drawings for roads and intersections, and ensure accurate georeferencing and drafting standards across projects.

Role Overview

We are hiring a GIS & CAD Engineer to support transportation planning, traffic engineering and urban mobility projects. The role combines geospatial mapping and analysis with accurate CAD drafting, data management and technical coordination to deliver clear, reliable project outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare GIS-based road network, corridor, land-use, public transport and infrastructure maps using QGIS / ArcGIS.
• Digitise, georeference, clean and analyse spatial datasets, maintain accurate coordinate reference systems and GIS databases.
• Carry out buffer, network, route and accessibility analyses, including GPS trace processing and pilot geofencing maps.
• Develop 2D CAD drawings for roads, intersections, cross-sections, traffic management layouts, road markings and signage.
• Convert and integrate GIS and CAD files while maintaining scale, coordinates, layers, annotations and drafting standards.
• Map traffic survey locations, OD zones, public transport stops, road inventories and mobility study boundaries.
• Coordinate with traffic engineers, transport planners and survey teams to incorporate field data and design revisions.
• Perform quality checks, maintain version-controlled drawings/databases and deliver maps and plans on schedule.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Geoinformatics or a related discipline, alternatively, a relevant GIS degree with strong engineering drafting experience.
• 37 years of relevant professional experience in GIS mapping and CAD drafting, ideally for transport or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work with georeferenced base maps, survey inputs, spatial data and engineering drawings.

Technical Skills

Essential

AutoCAD (2D); QGIS or ArcGIS; GIS digitisation, spatial analysis and georeferencing; coordinate systems; Google Earth Pro / KML / KMZ; MS Excel.

Preferred

Civil 3D / OpenRoads; GPS data processing and geofencing; spatial databases; knowledge of road geometry and transportation networks.

Added Advantage

Python / SQL automation; transport project experience; basic remote sensing and dashboard/map presentation skills.

Expected Deliverables

• Georeferenced GIS road network, transit route, corridor and thematic maps.
• CAD plans for roads, intersections, traffic management and related infrastructure.
• GIS data layers, survey location maps, GPS route maps and geofencing boundaries.
• Accurate, updated GIS/CAD files and presentation-ready figures for technical reports.

Required Professional Competencies

• Strong attention to spatial and drafting accuracy, including coordinate systems and drawing conventions.
• Ability to interpret topographic information, survey data and technical engineering inputs.
• Good communication, problem-solving, documentation and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Project Background

Experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, highways, urban infrastructure, public transport, smart mobility or GIS-based corridor studies is preferred.
