Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our geospatial team in Mumbai. You will contribute to data management, GIS workflows, and integration with database systems, focusing on ArcGIS platforms and open-source tools.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of GIS experience, a master’s in geoinformatics or civil engineering, and a strong eye for detail; exposure to SDE/RDBMS and scripting (Python/SQL) is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of GIS experience required.
• Experience with ArcGIS Desktop/Pro/Online is required.
• Experience with GIS data management using an SDE or RDBMS is a bonus.
• Experience with ArcGIS Utility Network is a bonus.
• Experience with enterprise asset management or integration between systems and GIS is a bonus.

Job description

Qualifications

• Experience working with utility data, preferably Electric, Gas or Water utility data.
• Experience performing vector data management and data creation/curation activities in ArcGIS.
• Experience with GIS data management using an SDE (ArcGIS Software) and/or experience of working with an RDBMS (Relational database management system). Both skills are a bonus.
• Experience working with ArcGIS Utility Network is a bonus.
• Attention to detail and an ability to follow process and procedure.
• Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management software like Trimble Unity/Cityworks, SAP, Maximo, etc., or working on integration between these systems and GIS is a bonus.
• Experience performing business analyst functions on geospatial projects, determining requirements and testing is a bonus.
• Experience working with software like FME Desktop/Server or any other open-source GIS software is a bonus.
• Programming knowledge or work experience in languages like Python, JavaScript, SQL or C# is a bonus.

Education

• Master’s in Geoinformatics or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or any relevant field.

Experience Required

• 1 to 3 years of work experience in Geographic Information Systems (mandatory).

Software/Tools Experience Required

• Must have experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online.
