Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India in Bengaluru is seeking a GIS Analyst to support spatial data analysis, mapping, and database management across projects.

You will work with ArcGIS Pro/Desktop/Online, FME or open-source GIS tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate spatial datasets, automate workflows, and produce geographic data reports.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in GIS/Geoinformatics or related field.
• 1–3 years of GIS experience.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS suite and GIS data management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for spatial data analysis, digital mapping, and database management.
• Assist in creating and maintaining GIS maps and spatial datasets using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
• Manage GIS databases (SDE in ArcGIS Software) to develop, store, and maintain spatial data.
• Perform basic spatial analysis and mapping to support projects.
• Assist in managing GIS data in relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Learn and use GIS tools such as FME Desktop/Server or other open‑source GIS software.
• Support automation of GIS workflows using Python, JavaScript, SQL, or C#.
• Work with other teams to integrate GIS data into business processes.
• Convert physical maps into a digital form for computer usage.
• Perform data cleaning to transform data into its desired form.
• Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
• Manage a digital library of geographic maps in various file types.
• Work on integrations between Enterprise Asset Management software systems and GIS.
• Perform business analyst functions on geospatial projects, determining requirements and testing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in GIS/Geoinformatics and/or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or any relevant field.
• 1–3 years of experience in GIS or related field.
• Proficiency in GIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Utility Data, Vector Data Management, and ArcGIS SDE.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
