You will manage statutory geology compliance under MCDR 2017/MMDR, resource estimation, 3D ore body modeling, core logging, QA/QC, and coordination with mining engineers on bench heights and slope stability, all on-site in Kendujhar.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Opencast Mine Geology & Grade Control: Direct daily pit geology operations, face mapping, and bench sampling. Select mine faces and guide daily excavation to ensure precise quality blending (Fe, SiO2, Al2O3) to meet plant and customer dispatch standards.
• Statutory Geological Compliance: Draft, update, and maintain all statutory geology records, geological reports, Mining Plans / Schemes of Mining, and annual/monthly returns required under the MCDR 2017, MMDR Act, and guidelines set by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) and the Odisha Directorate of Mines.
• Resource & Reserve Estimation: Execute UNFC (United Nations Framework Classification) compliant resource/reserve estimations. Update 3D ore body models, cross-sections, and pit boundary profiles using geological modeling software.
• Exploration & Core Logging: Plan and supervise exploratory diamond and RC core drilling programs. Execute core logging, sampling protocols, QA/QC assay management, and geological documentation.
• Mine Engineering Coordination: Partner closely with Mining Engineers and Mines Surveyors to optimize bench heights, slope stability, haul road planning, and short-term pit advancement strategies.
• Grade Reconciliation: Oversee wet chemical laboratory workflows and maintain systematic monthly reconciliation between estimated in-situ reserves, excavated grades, and final dispatched quantities.
