Job summary

Talent Hr Networks is seeking an experienced General Manager for Supply Chain Management & Procurement to lead end-to-end procurement, sourcing, material planning and vendor development for a large-scale infrastructure project.

The role requires 15–20 years in SCM and project procurement, with strong negotiation, leadership and SAP/ERP experience in EPC or heavy engineering environments. The position is based in Pune and involves domestic and international supplier networks.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of experience in SCM, strategic procurement, project procurement, sourcing and vendor management.
• Experience in large-scale EPC, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, construction projects.
• High-value, multi-category procurement with domestic/international supplier management.
• Experience in long‑lead equipment procurement, material planning, logistics and project supply chain.
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, vendor development and cost optimization.
• Experience with SAP/ERP procurement systems, advanced MS Excel, MIS reporting and supplier analytics.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management with sound problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic procurement and sourcing plans aligned with project schedules, technical specs, budgets.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, techno-commercial evaluations, supplier selection, price negotiations, PO finalization.
• Procure mechanical, electrical, long-lead items, and subcontracting services for the project.
• Prepare and monitor material procurement plans with engineering, PM, construction and commissioning teams.
• Identify critical materials and long-lead items; ensure timely procurement and site availability.
• Develop and manage domestic and international supplier networks and alternate sourcing options.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery; resolve delays and disputes.
• Manage end-to-end logistics, freight, imports, customs clearance, insurance, and material movement.
• Review contracts, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, liquidated damages and CG terms.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans for delays and escalations.
• Lead and develop a team across procurement, sourcing, logistics, vendor management and material planning.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager Supply Chain Management & Procurement to lead end-to-end procurement, strategic sourcing, material planning, vendor development, logistics, and commercial management for a large-scale, technically complex infrastructure project.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in project procurement, high-value material sourcing, supplier negotiations, long-lead item management, and supply chain execution in EPC, infrastructure, heavy engineering, power, energy, or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and execute strategic procurement and sourcing plans aligned with project schedules, technical specifications, quality requirements, and approved budgets.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, techno-commercial evaluations, supplier selection, price negotiations, and purchase order finalization.
• Manage procurement of mechanical materials, pipes, MS materials, electrical items, busbars, wires, switchgear, bought-out items, long-lead equipment, and subcontracting services.
• Prepare and monitor material procurement plans in coordination with engineering, project management, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Identify critical materials and long-lead items and ensure timely procurement and availability at the project site.
• Develop and manage domestic and international supplier networks, alternate sourcing options, and strategic vendor relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service; resolve supply delays, quality issues, and commercial disputes.
• Manage end-to-end logistics, transportation, freight, import documentation, customs clearance, insurance, and material movement to the project site, wherever applicable.
• Review and negotiate purchase contracts, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, liquidated damages, performance guarantees, and other commercial conditions.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering, procurement savings, and inventory optimization initiatives.
• Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans for supplier delays, material shortages, logistics disruptions, and cost escalations.
• Lead and develop a team across procurement, strategic sourcing, logistics, vendor management, and material planning.
• Establish procurement MIS, supplier scorecards, KPIs, and regular reporting on procurement progress, cost, delivery, and material availability.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, GST, customs/EXIM regulations, MSME payment requirements, and applicable statutory and audit requirements.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations will be an added advantage.\

Experience & Skills :

• 15–20 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Strategic Procurement, Project Procurement, Sourcing, and Vendor Management.
• Proven experience in large-scale EPC, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, construction, heavy engineering, or technically complex projects.
• Strong exposure to high-value, multi-category procurement and domestic/international supplier management.
• Experience in long‑lead equipment procurement, material planning, logistics, and project supply chain execution.
• Excellent commercial negotiation, contract management, vendor development, and cost optimization skills.
• Experience in SAP/ERP procurement systems, advanced MS Excel, MIS reporting, and supplier performance analytics.
