Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end production operations of stainless steel seamless pipe/SAW pipe manufacturing facilities.
• Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Manage greenfield, brownfield, expansion, modernization, and capacity enhancement projects.
• Provide technical leadership in pipe manufacturing processes and automation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, ASME, API, DIN, EN, ISO, PED, and customer-specific quality standards.
• Monitor costs, budgets, and profitability; collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Lead maintenance, reliability, and safety programs to improve OEE and safety culture.
• Foster leadership and succession planning across cross-functional teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

• Lead end-to-end production operations of Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe/SAW Pipe manufacturing facilities.
• Ensure achievement of production targets, capacity utilization, productivity, yield, and quality objectives.
• Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Monitor production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Project Management & Plant Expansion

• Manage greenfield, brownfield, expansion, modernization, and capacity enhancement projects.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, execution, commissioning, and performance stabilization.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders for timely project completion.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.

Technical Excellence

• Provide technical leadership in pipe manufacturing processes including tube making, pilgering, heat treatment, straightening, pickling, testing, and finishing operations.
• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve product quality, throughput, and operational reliability.
• Drive implementation of automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ASTM, ASME, API, DIN, EN, ISO, PED, and customer-specific quality standards.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives to minimize rejections, customer complaints, and process deviations.
• Ensure adherence to all statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.

Commercial & Business Management

• Monitor manufacturing costs, operational budgets, and profitability metrics.
• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to achieve business objectives.
• Support techno-commercial evaluations, vendor development, contract negotiations, and capital expenditure planning.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational excellence.

Maintenance & Reliability

• Ensure effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Improve equipment reliability, plant availability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Manage maintenance budgets and spare parts inventory efficiently.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams comprising Production, Projects, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering professionals.
• Develop succession planning, capability-building, and performance management programs.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies and industry best practices.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture across plant operations.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance programs.

Desired Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
• 10-20 years of experience in Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe, Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe, SAW Pipe, ERW Pipe, Tube Manufacturing, or related metallurgical industries.
• Proven experience in plant operations, project execution, commissioning, and team leadership.
• Strong understanding of pipe manufacturing processes, quality standards, and industrial engineering practices.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and techno-commercial decision-making abilities.
• Experience handling large manufacturing teams and high-volume production facilities.
