We are looking for an experienced and dynamic General Manager Human Resources to lead the HR function and partner closely with the leadership team in building a high-performing, engaged and people-centric organisation.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing the HR strategy in alignment with business objectives, while overseeing talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, learning & development, succession planning, compensation & benefits, employee relations, HR operations and statutory compliance.
The role requires a strong business-oriented HR leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and effectively manage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership
- Develop and execute the HR strategy in alignment with the organisation's business and growth objectives.
- Act as a strategic HR partner to the leadership team and business heads.
- Translate business requirements into effective people strategies and HR interventions.
- Drive organisational effectiveness, workforce productivity and employee capability.
2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead manpower planning and workforce budgeting in line with business requirements.
- Oversee recruitment of critical, leadership and specialist positions.
- Build a strong talent pipeline and strengthen employer branding initiatives.
- Develop effective talent retention and succession strategies.
3. Talent & Performance Management
- Drive the organisation-wide performance management process.
- Develop and monitor KRAs, KPIs and performance evaluation frameworks.
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning and identification of high-potential employees.
- Establish career development and internal mobility frameworks.
4. Learning & Organisation Development
- Identify current and future capability requirements across the organisation.
- Develop leadership development and competency-building programmes.
- Drive learning and development initiatives to improve employee capability and business performance.
- Lead organisation development and change management initiatives.
5. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Develop and implement initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, retention and organisational culture.
- Conduct employee engagement surveys and ensure effective action planning.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen employee communication and recognition initiatives.
6. Compensation & Benefits
- Lead the design and review of compensation structures, incentives and benefits.
- Conduct market benchmarking and ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.
- Drive annual compensation reviews, promotions and reward programmes.
- Monitor HR costs and ensure effective manpower budgeting.
7. HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee HR operations including employee lifecycle management, HR policies, HRIS, payroll coordination and benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements and company policies.
- Establish strong HR governance, controls and processes.
- Drive HR digitisation and process improvement initiatives.
8. Employee Relations
- Build and maintain positive employee relations across the organisation.
- Handle complex employee grievances, disciplinary matters and conflict resolution.
- Ensure fair, consistent and transparent application of HR policies.
- Where applicable, manage industrial relations and interactions with employee representatives/unions.
9. HR Analytics & Reporting
- Develop HR dashboards and people analytics for management decision-making.
- Track key HR metrics such as attrition, manpower productivity, hiring effectiveness, absenteeism and employee engagement.
- Provide regular HR reports and insights to senior management.
Qualification & Experience
- Graduate degree in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in Human Resources / Personnel Management preferred.
- 18 - 24 years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience in senior HR leadership roles.
- Strong experience across HR strategy, HR operations, talent management, employee engagement, performance management and organisation development.
- Proven experience in partnering with senior leadership and managing large or diverse teams.
- Experience in a growing, complex or multi-location organisation will be an advantage.
