Job summary

EY in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai is seeking a qualified Senior GL Accountant with 4+ years post CA qualification to join the night shift (6 PM, 9 hours).

You will prepare journals, close monthly and quarterly books, reconcile ledgers, and ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance while supporting audits and process improvements across finance teams. You will also drive automation initiatives and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA/CMA/ACCA/CPA with international accounting exposure.
• 4+ years of experience in General Ledger Accounting, R2R, or financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel.
• Ability to prepare financial reports and support audits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals for accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Lead month, quarter, and year-end closes.
• Analyze balance sheets and P&L variances; investigate causes.
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance and internal controls adherence.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, AP/AR, and treasury teams.
• Update SOPs and L5 processes; drive process improvements.
• Lead training to enhance team capability and customer-centricity.

Shift: Night Shift - 6PM (9hrs clock-in)

Transport : one way - drop provided to doorstep

Roles & Responsiblities:

• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, allocations, and adjustments.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Analyse balance sheet and profit & loss accounts and investigate variances.
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and management reports.
• Monitor fixed assets, depreciation, intercompany transactions, and provisions.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, and other finance teams.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and support automation initiatives.
• Maintain and update SOPs and L5 process flows for existing and new activities.
• Lead training and capabilitybuilding initiatives to enhance team skills, business knowledge, and customercentric behaviour.
• Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.

Education & Qualifications:

• Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in General Ledger Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or Financial Accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
