The General Accounting Manager is responsible for managing multiple General Accounting activities for Dassault Systèmes (DS) legal entities, including Bank Reconciliation (automated and manual), VAT processes and entries, closing entries, Fixed Asset accounting, AP-to-GL reconciliation, Manual Payment Processing, Account Reconciliations, Closing Task Monitoring. The role is accountable for ensuring accurate and timely financial close, compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement. Along with strong accounting and domain expertise, the ideal candidate will demonstrate proven capabilities in people leadership, team development, stakeholder management, and process improvement, along with hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft and SAP, Kyriba, and banking platforms, preferably within a Shared Services or Global Business Services environment.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
- Lead and govern month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities; ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
- Manage bank reconciliation operations across automated and manual processes, driving exception resolution, root-cause analysis.
- Oversee ICTP (Intercompany and Transfer Pricing) activities, including intercompany accounting, transfer pricing entries, reconciliations, and resolving intercompany mismatches.
- Oversee VAT accounting and compliance, including entries, reconciliations, reporting, and coordination with tax stakeholders.
- Lead Fixed Asset accounting and governance, covering additions, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and FA-to-GL reconciliations.
- Ensure timely completion of AP-to-GL and Balance sheet account reconciliation, driving timely resolution of variances and aged items.
- Review accounting entries, including accruals, provisions, reclassifications, ICTP entries, and period-end adjustments, along with timely submission of account reconciliations.
- Oversee manual payment processes, ensuring appropriate controls, approvals, segregation of duties, and timely execution in platforms such as HSBC, Kyriba, and Global Cash.
People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team. Allocate work, monitor productivity, and ensure service delivery targets are achieved.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and create development plans.
- Foster employee engagement and maintain a healthy team environment.
- Drive succession planning, talent development, and attrition management.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Process Improvement & Knowledge Management
- Drive continuous process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives while ensuring adherence to internal controls, company policies, and operating standards.
- Monitor KPIs and operational performance, and contribute to finance system enhancements and process optimization projects.
- Capture, document, and share best practices, process improvements, and complex case resolutions to enhance team capability and operational consistency.
- Develop and maintain accurate process documentation and SOPs, ensuring effective knowledge management and consistent execution across the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field; Finance preferred.
- 10–13+ years of Finance & Accounting experience with strong R2R/GL experience
- Prior experience managing teams in a GBS/Shared Services/MNC environment.
- Strong knowledge of GL, reconciliations, fixed assets, VAT, bank accounting, month-end close, Intercompany & Transfer Pricing and financial controls.
- Experience with SAP/Oracle or other ERP systems.
