JOB DESCRIPTION

ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST

Responsibilities:

1. Expertise in analyzing environmental parameters related to water, soil, ambient air, and stack emissions, including micrometeorological studies.
2. Preparation of consent to establish and consent to operate as required by the Pollution Control Board.
3. Preparation of compliance reports as mandated by MEEFCC and SPCB.
4. Knowledge in ecological restoration and biodiversity studies.
5. Designing, maintaining, and operating ETP/STP systems.
6. Managing all environmental aspects related to mine execution and operation.
7. Coordinating with the technical team, reviewing EIA/ESIA reports, and preparing documentation.
8. Coordinating with MoEF for environmental and forest clearances.
9. Handling EIA, Environmental Clearance (EC), Central Ground Water Clearance (CGWC) documentation, and liaising with authorities.
10. Conducting research and analysis to assess environmental impacts.
11. Forecasting potential environmental issues and providing recommendations.
12. Conducting mine inspections for environmental safety compliance.
13. Analyzing inspection data to assess pollution levels, preparing reports, and suggesting processes to reduce environmental damage.
14. Obtaining environmental permits and developing environmental programs for the organization.
15. Providing training and guidance to team members and resolving environmental issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.

Educational Qualifications:

M.Sc./Ph.D. in Environmental Science or M.Tech in Environmental Engineering.

Experience:

8-12 years as an environmental expert in mining, steel, or cement industries. Mining experience is preferable. Experience in obtaining environmental clearances, testing, inspections, and preparing EIAs.
