Job summary

BCE Global Tech in Bengaluru seeks an accomplished Cloud Architect to design and manage scalable GCP solutions. You will lead security governance, cost optimization, and automation using IaC, Docker, and GKE to deliver robust cloud infrastructure.

Applicants should hold a relevant Bachelor's degree and multiple Google Cloud certifications, with 7+ years in IT and 4+ years on cloud-native GCP projects. Hybrid work culture and ongoing learning opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is required.
  • 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience, 4+ years in cloud-native GCP.
  • Current Google Cloud professional certification(s) mandatory.
  • Strong IAM, VPC, Security Command Center expertise.
  • Experience with Terraform or Deployment Manager and IaC.
  • Proficiency with Docker and GKE; networking and data services on GCP.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain robust, highly available GCP solutions.
  • Enforce security policies and compliance across the GCP environment.
  • Monitor, log, and alert using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
  • Optimize cloud costs via rightsizing and reserved instances.
  • Design and manage GKE for deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Lead cloud migration from on-premises and plan cutovers.
  • Collaborate with dev, ops, and security teams and document architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture, deploying, and maintaining robust, highly available, and fault‑tolerant cloud solutions utilizing a comprehensive suite of Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Establishing and enforcing stringent security policies, access controls, and compliance frameworks across the entire GCP environment, safeguarding sensitive data assets.
  • Implementing proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms using tools like Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging for continuous performance evaluation and issue detection.
  • Developing and executing strategies for cloud cost management and optimization, employing techniques such as resource rightsizing, automated scaling, and reserved instance purchasing.
  • Designing and managing container orchestration platforms, primarily focusing on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), for efficient application deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Leading the migration of on‑premises workloads and applications to the GCP cloud, meticulously planning cut over strategies and minimizing operational disruption.
  • Collaborating closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate cloud architecture seamlessly into the broader technology ecosystem.
  • Creating comprehensive architectural documentation, including diagrams, Runbooks, and standard operating procedures, ensuring knowledge transfer and maintainability.
  • Evaluating emerging GCP technologies and services, providing recommendations for adoption to enhance capabilities and drive innovation.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers regarding cloud best practices, architectural patterns, and GCP service utilization.
Critical Qualifications
  • Demonstrable, extensive hands‑on experience architecture and managing complex production environments within the Google Cloud Platform console and its associated services.
  • Proven expertise in implementing comprehensive Security & Governance strategies on GCP, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Deep understanding and practical application of cloud cost Optimization techniques, including resource utilization analysis, auto‑scaling configurations, and implementing FinOps principles.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is strictly required.
  • Possession of at least one current, relevant Google Cloud Professional certification, such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Security Engineer, is mandatory.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with at least four years specifically focused on designing, implementing, and managing cloud‑native solutions on GCP.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager for automated provisioning and configuration management.
  • Strong command of containerization technologies and orchestration frameworks, particularly Docker and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • In‑depth knowledge of networking concepts within GCP, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, and Cloud DNS.
  • Solid understanding of database solutions on GCP, encompassing Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, BigQuery, Big‑table, and managed PostgreSQL/MySQL services, along with data migration strategies.
