Job summary

Hero MotoCorp seeks an experienced FuSa Engineer to own the functional safety lifecycle for next‑gen 2‑wheeler platforms, including ICE and EV, in the Vehicle Security and E/E Architecture team.

You will translate ISO 26262 into hardware/software requirements, implement safety mechanisms, and lead validation and fault-injection testing to ensure robust protection against faults in safety‑critical systems.

FuSa Engineer

A purpose driven role for you
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Engineer with 7+ years of experience in the automotive domain. The candidate will be working in the Vehicle Security and E/E Architecture department of HERO CIT R&D.
  • The person in charge will be expected to own the end-to-end functional safety lifecycle of our next-generation connected 2-wheeler platforms (ICE & EV). The insights and architectures developed by him/her will serve as the core defence against systematic and random hardware faults in safety-critical 2-wheeler systems (e.g., Ride-by-Wire, ABS, BMS, and Traction Control). The candidate will be responsible for translating complex safety standards (ISO 26262) into actionable hardware and software requirements, deploying safety mechanisms tailored for constrained 2-wheeler packaging, and acting as the primary custodian of vehicle safety validation and fault-injection testing

Academic Qualification & Experience

BTech/MTech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or Embedded Systems. Advanced Qualifications are an advantage.

Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of the ISO 26262 standard (specifically Parts 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8) and experience conducting FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TUV SUD / SGS-TUV Functional Safety Professional/Expert) are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Communication Networks: CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and safety-critical communication (E2E protection).
  • Hands-on experience with Vector CANoe/CANalyzer and Diagnostic Tool Set (DTS).
  • Experience with 2-wheeler specific safety domains such as Body Management Systems (BMS), Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), or Advanced Braking Systems (ABS).
Behavioural Skills
  • Strong sense of achievement, ownership, and an unbiased, fair approach as a team player.
  • Experience in CFT (Cross-Functional Team) environments working under time constraints and project pressure.
  • Good communication and intercultural skills.
