Job summary

Sonani Industries is seeking a Furnace Operator to support furnace and related production operations in Surat. You will monitor equipment performance, assist with material handling, pressing, inspection, packing and dispatch, while strictly following safety procedures.

The role involves handling gases such as Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Argon, and supporting maintenance during breakdowns and power outages. On-site work with emphasis on safe operation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Observe ball mill and tray drier operation and report anomalies.
• Assist in material removal and sieving as required.

• Assist with inspection, packing and dispatch activities as needed.
• Support maintenance during breakdowns or maintenance activities.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Furnace Operator is responsible for supporting furnace and related production operations, monitoring equipment performance, assisting with material handling and pressing activities, and following safe operating practices during production, inspection, packing, and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor the working of the ball mill and tray drier and report any abnormal operating conditions.
• Assist in removing material from the ball mill and tray drier; use an apron where required for safe material handling.
• Assist with the material sieving process as required.
• Observe furnace operation and support the operator/team in maintaining smooth production activities.
• Observe compressor operation and report any abnormal conditions to the concerned person.
• Monitor and observe the working of the cooling tower.
• Change gas bottles safely as required during operations.
• Observe the water circulation system of the ball mill and report any irregularities.
• Arrange pressed items in the designated way and stack them properly in an organized manner.
• Assist with pressing activities whenever required and when work is available.
• Carry out visual inspection of finished products and identify visible defects or abnormalities.
• Assist with inspection, packing, and dispatch activities as required.
• Assist the maintenance team during breakdowns or maintenance activities when required.
• Support power-changeover activities during electricity failure, including operation of the DG set (ON/OFF), as instructed.
• Handle and use Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Argon gases as required, following the prescribed safety procedures.
