The role includes monitoring top pressure, gas distribution, temperature, and PCI operations using PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, with a focus on safety, reliability, and energy efficiency. Training and coordination with maintenance are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Oversee day-to-day Blast Furnace operations ensuring stable and efficient process conditions.
• Monitor and control top pressure, gas distribution, burden descent, oxygen enrichment, and blast temperature.
• Support start-up, shutdown, and relining activities for safe and efficient furnace operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Blast Furnace operations ensuring stable and efficient process conditions.
• Monitor and control top pressure, gas distribution, burden descent, oxygen enrichment, and blast temperature.
• Achieve consistent hot metal quality and output as per production targets.
• Coordinate with Stock House and Cast House for burden charging, raw material sequencing, and tapping schedule.
• Support start-up, shutdown, and relining activities for safe and efficient furnace operation.
• Supervise PCI system operations for consistent and reliable coal injection.
• Monitor grinding, drying, and injection parameters through PLC/DCS systems.
• Optimize PCI rate and coke replacement ratio while maintaining furnace thermal balance.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure high equipment reliability.
• Analyze PCI efficiency and implement improvements in coal quality and injection distribution.
• Operate and monitor all key parameters through PLC/DCS/SCADA systems.
• Analyze gas composition (CO, CO, H), blast temperature, and furnace pressure trends.
• Take corrective actions for process deviations like hanging, slipping, or scaffolding.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce energy consumption.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Furnace Operation & Control:

• Oversee day-to-day Blast Furnace operations ensuring stable and efficient process conditions.
  
• Monitor and control top pressure, gas distribution, burden descent, oxygen enrichment, and blast temperature.
  
• Achieve consistent hot metal quality and output as per production targets.
  
• Coordinate with Stock House and Cast House for burden charging, raw material sequencing, and tapping schedule.

• Supervise PCI system operations for consistent and reliable coal injection.

• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure high equipment reliability.

3. Process Control & Optimization:

• Operate and monitor all key parameters through PLC/DCS/SCADA systems.
