Job description

The Investments team at Navi manages our portfolio of investment products, including mutual funds and digital gold. The team is responsible for conceptualizing new investment solutions and expanding the customer base for existing products, driving growth and accessibility in the investment space.

About the Role

We are looking to hire a Fund Manager to co-anchor the equity investment function at Navi AMC. This role is a SEBI-designated Key Managerial Position responsible for managing our full spectrum of equity schemes — both active and passive. The Fund Manager will own the investment process end-to-end for their allocated schemes, mentor a growing research and dealing team, contribute to product ideation for new scheme launches, and be a visible representative of Navi AMC's investment philosophy to distributors, advisors, media, and unitholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make all buy/sell/hold decisions in line with each scheme's Scheme Information Document (SID), Key Information Memorandum (KIM), and mandate
  • For passive schemes: manage tracking error tightly, execute index rebalancing on schedule, handle corporate actions (dividends, splits, F&O rollovers, index reconstitution) and cash-equitisation efficiently
  • For active schemes: drive fundamental stock selection, sector allocation, position sizing, and generate consistent alpha over the benchmark across market cycles
  • Own and shape the investment process — generate high-conviction ideas through primary research, company management interactions, channel checks, industry deep-dives, and macro analysis
  • Mentor and manage the equity research analyst team; develop analysts through sector coverage assignments, feedback on research quality, and structured coaching
  • Ensure compliance with SEBI Mutual Fund Regulations, scheme-level exposure limits, and internal risk frameworks.
  • Represent Navi AMC externally — investor conferences, distributor meets, media (TV, print, digital), and unitholder communication; own performance narrative in periods of both outperformance and drawdown.
Must Haves
  • 8–12 years of equity investing experience as a research analyst or fund manager at a mutual fund, PMS, insurance, or proprietary book of comparable scale.CFA, MBA-Finance from a Tier-1 institution, or CA.
  • Exceptional bottom-up stock-picking acumen through deep fundamental research; ability to develop differentiated theses on individual companies and conviction to size positions meaningfully when the evidence warrants.
  • Deep understanding of Indian equity markets, macro dynamics, sectoral trends, and corporate India across market caps. Deep expertise in at least 3–4 sectors will be preferred.
  • Strong people orientation — genuinely invested in developing the analyst bench through structured coaching, honest feedback, and career pathing; builds strong partnerships across Investments, Risk, Product, and Sales, contributing to a collaborative, process-driven investment culture.
  • Familiarity with SEBI MF regulations, scheme compliance, and reporting obligations.
