Job summary

Aptiv is seeking an FS SW Advanced Engineer for Advance Safety, UX & BCM projects in Bengaluru. You will shape safety concepts, lead architecture, and guide SW teams on ISO 26262, AutoSAR, and FuSa practices.

The role requires 5+ years of Functional Safety hands-on SW development, Safety Analysis, and Tool Qualification, with a strong focus on standards and risk assessment. Aptiv offers a strong technical environment and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electricals, Electronics, Instrumentation or Robotics.
• 5+ years of Functional Safety hands-on SW development and Safety Analysis.
• Experience with Tool Qualification in FS.
• Experience with ISO 26262 and ASPICE processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer safety requirements and support Technical Safety Concept development.
• Manage functional safety interactions with internal/externals and work on architecture.
• Develop FuSa SW requirements (SWE1) and contribute to SWE2–SWE6.
• Provide guidance on Safety Mechanisms and Safe states in FS topics.

Your Role

You will be working as FS SW Advanced Engineer for Advance Safety, UX & BCM projects. In particular you will be responsible for:

1. Analyze customer safety requirements and support the engineering team to prepare the Technical Safety Concept and Technical Safety
2. Manage all functional safety relevant interactions with internal and externals, work on POC, RFQs, bringing up the technical SW architecture
3. Developing FuSa SW SWE1 Reqs creation, working experience in SWE2 to SWE6
4. Technical guidance on the implementation of Safety Mechanisms, Safe states and in other technical FS aspects to the teams.
5. Working knowledge on ISO26262 and testing the product
6. Provide necessary support to all competency teams to design Software/System/ architecture in accordance to ISO26262
7. Define and coordinate on confirmation/verification review with product team to ensure functional safety standard are being met throughout product development life cycle
8. Ensure the ISO 26262 certified or Qualified SW tools usage for product development and production
9. Reviews technical risk assessments
10. Experience in Supplier Assessment in FS Area

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

A graduate in BE/B.Tech (Electricals/ Electronics/ Instrumentation, Robotics) with work experience of 6 - 9 years. Having minimum 5 years of Functional Safety hands on SW development, Safety Analysis, Tool Qualification experience.

A go-getter, good in communication, challenge ideas to achieve career aspirations aligned with Aptiv mission.

A Learning Enthusiast to be passionate about learning, follow trends and publications in the market outlining new solutions.

• Embedded C
• Automotive Product Development Process knowledge (ASPICE) and deep knowledge and understanding of ISO 26262 development process (Part 4/5 & Part 6 in specific).
• Road vehicles - Functional safety and its Methodologies
• Experience in FuSa SW Architecture development, Creating SWE1 FuSa Reqs, working in AutoSAR platform SWE3 & SWE4 Design & Implementation
• Performing SWE5 and SWE6 activities
• Experience in design of Safety product, UX and BCM
• Exploring upcoming technologies in Advance Safety
• Tools related for functional safety (Requirements Management, Static/dynamic analysis)
• Tool Knowledge- Debuggers, Simulators, Oscilloscopes, Vector CANAnalyzer, Vector CANoe
