Job summary

NXP seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to deliver state‑of‑the‑art safety platforms and IPs for automotive and industrial products, ensuring ISO26262 and IEC61508 compliance.

You will define safety requirements for Platform and IP modules, support lifecycle management of SEooCs, and prepare safety modules for assessments. Collaboration with internal design teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of ISO26262 and IEC61508 is required.
• Experience leading IP/subsystem or SoC functional safety development through lifecycle.

Job description

ROLE

• Deliver state‑of‑the‑art functional safety Platform and IP solutions for automotive and industrial products compliant with ISO26262 and IEC61508.
• Define safety requirements for Platform and IP modules.
• Support management of Platform and IP modules developed as SEooC throughout their entire lifecycle, collaborating with internal design teams.
• Prepare safety modules for functional safety assessment.
• Support SoC integration of safety Platform and IP, including implementation of IP assumptions of use.
• Perform safety analysis activities such as FMEDA, FTA, DFA, and fault injection.
• Contribute to the functional safety expert community to improve processes, safety features, and their marketing.
• Define Platform and IP safety features and roadmaps in line with functional architecture.
• Work closely with internal and external IP teams to define and deliver ISO26262‑compliant IP.
• Report to management on compliance status, gaps, and mitigation actions.
• Support SoC teams in integrating safety Platform and IP assumptions of use.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good working knowledge of ISO26262 and IEC61508.
• Experience in complex SoC and IP development compliant with ISO26262 Part11.
• Experience with safety audits/assessments.
• Proven track record of leading IP/subsystem or SoC functional safety development through all lifecycle phases and ensuring safety standard compliance.
• B.Tech in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline with at least 3years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with internal and external teams.
