Requirements

We are looking for a Functional Consultant to join our EDI Managed Services team. You will play a key role in analyzing business requirements, configuring EDI solutions, and providing ongoing support to ensure efficient and reliable data exchange across various platforms.

Objective: Provide specialized EDI support focusing on issue resolution, requirement development, testing, documentation, change management, and trading partner support.

Core Functional & Technical Skills

1. EDI Issue Review & Troubleshooting:

1. Expertise in analyzing and resolving EDI transaction failures related to OpenText and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
2. Strong knowledge of EDI error resolution processes, message tracking, reprocessing, and exception handling.
3. Experience using EDI troubleshooting tools, logs, and transaction tracking (Sterling B2B, OpenText Trading Grid, VAN reports, etc.).
4. Ability to coordinate with technical teams (developers, network, database admins) to resolve issues.

2. Requirement Gathering & Business Analysis:

1. Collaborate with ADI's business users, trading partners, and IT teams to identify EDI needs and document functional requirements.
2. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for EDI development teams.
3. Conduct gap analysis to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
4. Experience working with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, finance, procurement, and logistics.

3. EDI Standards & Mapping Expertise:

1. Deep understanding of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, IDoc, RosettaNet, CSV, etc.).
2. Strong experience with EDI mapping tools (OpenText Mapping Designer, IBM Sterling Map Editor).
3. Knowledge of data transformation, cross-referencing, and schema validations.
4. Ability to guide trading partners in mapping requirements, validation rules, and compliance guidelines.

4. Testing & Validation:

1. Define test cases, scenarios, and expected outcomes for EDI transactions.
2. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and UAT for new EDI implementations or changes.
3. Perform end-to-end validation of trading partner setups and data flow.
4. Work with trading partners for parallel testing and certification.

5. Trading Partner Onboarding & Support:

1. Work with business partners and suppliers to onboard and configure new EDI connections.
2. Ensure proper trading partner setup, AS2/VAN configuration, and communication protocol settings.
3. Manage partner compliance with ADI-specific EDI guidelines.
4. Facilitate partner communication, troubleshooting, and training on EDI-related processes.

6. Change Management & Documentation:

1. Coordinate change management processes for new EDI implementations, modifications, and enhancements.
2. Maintain detailed documentation for EDI processes, error handling, mappings, and partner configurations.
3. Ensure adherence to compliance and audit requirements for EDI transactions.
4. Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams and external partners.

7. Project Management & Coordination:

1. Assist in planning, tracking, and execution of EDI-related projects.
2. Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, trading partners, and vendors.
3. Ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and business objectives.
4. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.

Soft Skills & Managed Services Capabilities

1. Client & Stakeholder Management:

1. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external trading partners.
2. Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and solutions to non-technical users.
3. Proactive approach to problem-solving, issue escalation, and resolution management.

2. Incident & Change Request Handling:

1. Experience working in IT service management (ITSM) environments using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.
2. Track, manage, and resolve EDI-related incidents within defined SLAs.
3. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation to reduce manual interventions.
5. Stay updated with EDI trends, compliance requirements, and security best practices.
6. Contribute to EDI strategy, standardization, and modernization initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

1. 4+ years of experience in EDI functional consulting, business analysis, and support.
2. Expertise in OpenText Trading Grid, IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, and VAN-based EDI communications.
3. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP) for EDI integration.
4. Strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics, manufacturing industry EDI processes.
5. Experience managing large trading partner networks and B2B transactions.
6. EDI Certification is a plus.
