Job summary

Deutsche Bank is expanding its internal technology capability to deliver best-in-class solutions. The VP Full Stack Engineer will lead cross-functional agile teams, drive architecture, and own delivery from analysis to production support.

You’ll work with modern stacks (Java, ReactJS, Node.js) and cloud/containers (GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) to build scalable services and micro‑services. A strong emphasis on automation and continuous improvement is expected.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of at least one modern programming language with OOP and functional programming concepts.
• Experience with test-driven development and CI environments.
• Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and modern frameworks such as ReactJS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery team from requirements to production support.
• Apply BDD techniques with users, analysts, developers and testers.
• Write clean, test-driven code and refactor continuously.

Role Description

You will work as part of a cross‑functional agile delivery team, including analysts, developers and testers. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on the latest technologies and practices, with a relentless focus on business value. You will be a team player who promotes open code, open discussion and a supportive, collaborative environment. You will take a leading role in all stages of software delivery, from initial analysis through to production support.

This role requires the Lead to help execute transformations with our global teams across technology, operating model and workforce.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery team, collaborating to understand requirements, refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them and support them in production.
• Use BDD techniques, collaborating closely with users, analysts, developers and testers.
• Write clean, test‑driven code and refactor constantly.
• Work on a range of technologies and components, including user interfaces, services and databases.
• Define and evolve component architecture and contribute to department‑ and bank‑wide decisions.
• Ensure reliable, easy‑to‑support software and provide third‑line support when needed.
• Help the team build, test and release software within short lead times, maintaining a highly automated continuous delivery pipeline.
• Design and develop projects using micro‑services architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with GCP, Docker, containers, Kubernetes etc is a plus.
• Create a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of financial services environments is useful but not essential.

Your Skills and Experience

• Deep knowledge of at least one modern programming language, with understanding of OOP and functional programming; ideally Java.
• Experience with test‑driven development and continuous integration environments.
• Understanding of web technologies, frameworks and tools: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Bootstrap, Node.js.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming.
• Experience in an agile team practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
• Experience in functional analysis is highly desirable.
• Experience in automated testing is highly desirable.
