Deutsche Bank in Pune, India, invites applications for a Senior Engineer - Java + AI Engineer role reporting to Assistant Vice President. You will design, develop, and operationalize Java components in the Transaction Monitoring and Data Controls team, and explore Agentic AI solutions.

The ideal candidate brings expert Java development experience, cloud exposure (GCP/AWS), and hands-on experience with data processing and CI/CD pipelines, plus collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Expert hands-on Java development (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, Microservices, Transactional Database etc.
• Java data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, Kafka
• Professional experience working with Java components on GCP (e.g. App Engine, GKE, Cloud Run)
• Experience of contributing to Design and development of scalable, high-volume applications, Performance tuning, resiliency, and fault tolerance
• Professional experience of at least one data storage technology (e.g., Oracle, Big Query)
• Professional experience of at least one CI/CD tool such as Team City, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• Designing end-to-end enterprise solutions
• Experience in working in one of cloud platform- AWS/GCP/Azure and cloud-native application.
• Experience of working with a globally distributed team requiring remote interaction across locations, time zones and diverse cultures
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience in LLM-based application development and Agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, Google ADK, CrewAI), RAG etc.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to Cloud/AI capabilities to ensure maximum automation of our applications

• Experience and knowledge of Data Engineering topics such as partitioning, optimisation based on different goals (e.g. retrieval performance vs insert performance)
• Experience working with confidential data and strategies to avoid direct use of raw data
• Experience related to any of payment scanning, fraud checking, integrity monitoring, payment lifecycle management
• Experience working with Drools or similar product
• Data quality, lineage, and observability concepts
• Understanding of data security principles and implementation considerations
