Job summary

BNY in Pune seeks a Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery of scalable applications across backend and frontend ecosystems. You will architect and implement enterprise-grade solutions using Java 11+/Spring Boot, Angular, microservices, APIs, and event-driven patterns, working with product, architecture, and design teams.

You will guide technical strategy, own production stability, drive CI/CD, testing, security, and observability, and apply AI-assisted development tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
• 9+ years of software development experience with strong full-stack expertise across backend and frontend technologies.
• Deep backend expertise in Java 11+ and Spring Boot 3+; experience building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Frontend development experience with Angular 14+ and JavaScript, UI patterns, state management, and reusable components.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and prompt writing for code generation and test creation.
• Familiarity with MCP servers and agentic frameworks to extend AI capabilities in developer workflows.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka.
• Strong testing and quality engineering skills (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber/Gherkin, TDD/BDD).
• Proficiency with code quality and security tools (SonarQube, Veracode, Fortify).
• DevOps/CI-CD experience (Git/GitLab, Docker, blue-green/feature-flag deployments).
• Observability/logging (SLF4J/Log4j, Splunk).
• Experience with MongoDB/Snowflake and data modeling for microservices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and pair programming.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum with JIRA/Confluence, Slack.
• Experience with Camunda/Drools workflow engines.
• Knowledge of distributed caching and cloud-native patterns (Hazelcast, Spring Cloud).
• Exposure to Spring AI and LangChain4J; Python scripting for tooling/AI integrations.
• Financial services or securities industry experience.

• Familiarity with MCP servers and emerging agentic frameworks to extend AI capabilities in developer workflows.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms, preferably Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of testing and quality engineering, including JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber/Gherkin, unit/integration testing, and experience with TDD and BDD practices.
• Proficiency with code quality and security tools such as SonarQube, Veracode, or Fortify.
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience, including Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern release strategies such as blue-green and feature-flag deployments.
• Familiarity with observability and logging practices, including SLF4J/Log4j, log aggregation, metrics, tracing, and tools such as Splunk.
• Experience with MongoDB, Snowflake, or other NoSQL/data platforms, with a solid understanding of data modeling for microservices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and pair programming skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and collaboration platforms like Slack.
• Experience with workflow and rules engines such as Camunda 7/8 and Drools 7/8.
