About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Developer with 8–11 years of experience to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable enterprise applications across both backend and frontend technologies. You will bring deep expertise in Java / Spring Boot microservices and strong frontend skills in Angular or React — delivering end-to-end features on AWS cloud with a strong emphasis on testing practices, TDD, and CI/CD automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot — applying OOP principles, SOLID design, and clean architecture patterns.
- Build and expose secure, well-documented RESTful APIs — following API-first design, OpenAPI standards, and versioning best practices.
- Develop and optimise data access layers using JPA / Hibernate — managing entity relationships, query optimisation, and database migrations.
- Apply strong OOP concepts — inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and abstraction — to produce clean, extensible backend code.
- Contribute to microservices architecture design — applying DDD, CQRS, and event-driven patterns for loosely coupled, independently deployable services.
Frontend Development
- Integrate frontend applications with Java backend REST APIs — managing async data flows, error handling, and loading state patterns.
- Build reusable UI components aligned to design system standards — ensuring maintainability and scalability across the frontend codebase.
Testing & Quality
- Champion TDD practices — writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito before or alongside feature development.
- Develop and maintain API test suites using Postman and RestAssured — covering positive, negative, and boundary scenarios.
- Design and execute integration tests — validating end-to-end data flows and service interactions across microservices boundaries.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines — implementing quality gates that prevent defective code from reaching production.
- Conduct thorough code reviews — enforcing coding standards, testing practices, and security guidelines.
- Design and deploy full stack applications on AWS — EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, and API Gateway.
- Containerise and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes — managing deployments, scaling, and health monitoring.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Implement AWS security best practices — IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS encryption.
- Monitor application health using CloudWatch and X-Ray — supporting rapid incident detection and resolution.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, UX Designers, QA, and DevOps teams in Agile sprint delivery.
- Participate in technical design discussions and architecture reviews.
- Produce clear technical documentation — API contracts, architecture decision records, and deployment runbooks.
- Mentor and support junior full stack developers across Java, frontend, testing, and AWS domains.
What We're Looking For
- 8–11 years of full stack development experience with demonstrable expertise in Java backend and Angular / React frontend in production.
- Deep Java proficiency — Java 8 / 11 / 17 / 21+ — with strong OOP fundamentals, SOLID principles, and microservices design patterns.
- Strong Spring Boot expertise — Spring MVC, Spring Security, REST API development, and JPA / Hibernate.
- Strong AWS experience — EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, API Gateway — in production cloud-native environments.
- Proven TDD practitioner — JUnit, Mockito, RestAssured — with experience building automated test suites from scratch.
- Strong CI/CD integration experience — Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Solid Agile / Scrum delivery experience — sprint ceremonies, backlog management, and iterative development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Event-driven architecture — Kafka, AWS SQS / SNS.
- Performance and load testing — JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
- Infrastructure-as-Code — Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience in Financial Services, FinTech, or regulated industry environments.
