Job summary

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor role based in India. The individual in this role will plan, conduct, and report food safety management system audits in accordance with FSSC 22000 and related standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing on-site audits, assessing clients' processes and documentation, identifying nonconformities, and providing clear, objective findings and recommendations. The Lead Auditor will coordinate audit schedules, prepare audit plans, and ensure compliance with LRQA policies and international accreditation requirements. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, supporting clients in understanding audit outcomes, and contributing to continual improvement of LRQA's assurance services.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, and relevant food safety regulations, with experience in food safety management systems auditing.
• Practical experience in the food or beverage industry, food manufacturing, processing, or supply chain management.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with the ability to interpret complex standards and assess compliance objectively.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to conduct interviews, lead audit meetings, and present findings clearly.
• Ability to work independently, manage time and travel schedules, and handle multiple audits and client engagements.
• Recognized auditor/lead auditor qualification for food safety standards; FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor certification strongly preferred.
• Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, impartiality, and continuous professional development in assurance and food safety.
