Job summary

Sunny Boats in Pune district, Maharashtra, India, seeks an experienced FRP Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing and finishing of FRP boats, ensuring quality, safety and targets are met. The role requires hands-on leadership of processes from mould preparation to final finishing.

The candidate should have 2–3 years of FRP manufacturing experience, a Diploma/ITI in Mechanical/Production/Marine, and strong knowledge of lamination, gelcoat, curing and related processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree/ITI in Mechanical, Production, Marine, or related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of FRP manufacturing experience, preferably in boats, marine, automotive, or similar composites.
• Strong practical knowledge of FRP hand lay-up and related processes.
• Knowledge of mould preparation, gelcoat application, lamination, vacuum bagging/infusion, curing, trimming, and finishing is advantageous.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day FRP boat manufacturing activities including mould preparation, lamination, resin application, curing, trimming and finishing.
• Plan and allocate manpower according to daily production requirements.
• Ensure proper use of FRP materials and safety procedures.
• Monitor lamination thickness, fibre orientation, resin-to-fiber ratio, and curing.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.
• Read and understand boat drawings, mould specs and technical requirements.
• Ensure boats/components are manufactured to drawings and quality standards.
• Monitor schedules and achieve targets without compromising quality.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe handling/storage of materials.
• Ensure PPE and safety compliance.
• Minimise wastage and improve efficiency.
• Maintain production records and daily progress reports.
• Identify recurring problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Support prototype development and modifications.

FRP Supervisor Boat Manufacturing Company

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced FRP Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing and finishing of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) boats and related components. The candidate will supervise production workers, ensure proper FRP fabrication processes, maintain quality standards, and achieve production targets while following safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities :-

• 1. Supervise day-to-day FRP boat manufacturing activities, including mould preparation, lamination, resin application, curing, trimming, grinding, and finishing.
• 2. Plan and allocate manpower according to daily production requirements.
• 3. Ensure proper use of fiberglass, resin, hardener, gelcoat, catalysts, core materials, and other FRP materials.
• 4. Monitor lamination thickness, fiber orientation, resin-to-fiber ratio, curing, and overall workmanship.
• 5. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• 6. Read and understand boat drawings, mould specifications, production instructions, and technical requirements.
• 7. Ensure boats and FRP components are manufactured according to approved drawings and quality standards.
• 8. Monitor production schedules and ensure targets are achieved without compromising quality.
• 9. Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure safe handling and storage of resin, chemicals, fiberglass, and other materials.
• 10. Ensure workers follow PPE and workplace safety requirements.
• 11. Minimize material wastage and improve production efficiency.
• 12. Maintain production records, material consumption reports, inspection records, and daily progress reports.
• 13. Identify recurring production problems and recommend corrective actions.
• 14. Support prototype development, modifications, repair work, and improvement of existing boat designs.

Required Skills and Experience :

• 1. Diploma / Degree / ITI in Mechanical, Production, Marine, or a related field is preferred.
• 2. 2- 3 years of experience in FRP manufacturing, preferably in boat, marine, automotive, or similar composite-product manufacturing.
• 3. Strong practical knowledge of FRP hand lay-up and related composite manufacturing processes.
• 4. Knowledge of mould preparation, gelcoat application, lamination, vacuum bagging/infusion, curing, trimming, and finishing is an advantage.
• 5. Ability to read basic engineering drawings and production specifications.
• 6. Good problem-solving and communication skills.
