Job summary

Weekday AI (YC W21) in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to design, build, and optimize AI-powered front-end experiences. You will work on copilots, intelligent search, and guided actions, integrating with LLM APIs and backend services.

The role requires 6+ years of frontend development and strong React/JS/TS skills, with emphasis on scalable micro-frontend patterns and production-grade UI. Collaboration with product, design, and AI teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 6+ years of front-end development experience.
• Strong React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript with modern build tools (Webpack or Rspack).
• Experience building scalable frontend architectures, including micro-frontends.
• Experience integrating frontend with REST/GraphQL APIs and AI services.
• Knowledge of accessibility, security, and performance best practices.

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience infront-end application development.
• Strong expertise in React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern build tools such as webpack or Rspack.
• Experience building scalable frontend architectures, including micro-frontends where relevant.
• Hands-on experience creating production-grade UI for AI products or data-rich applications.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with REST/GraphQL APIs and AI services.
• Understanding of AI failure modes and how to design around them — timeouts, low-confidence outputs, hallucinations, and the fallback/moderation UX needed when models or retrieval fail.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility, security, and performance best practices.
• Experience with data visualization libraries such as Chart.js, D3, orHighcharts.
• Experience building and deploying React applications and monitoring application performance.
• Strong sense of product design and the ability to translate Figma designs into polished, responsive experiences.
• Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Nice to Have

• Awareness of token/cost-efficient prompt design and the frontend patterns used with multi-agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI).
• Familiarity with agentic tooling concepts — skills, rules/guardrails, and MCP integrations — and how they surface in frontend UX.
• Familiarity with analytics, experimentation, and product telemetry for AI features.
• UI test automation, preferably using Playwright.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS or workflow software.
• Familiarity with Docker for local development environments
